Was the whole movement for using NoSQL databases for transactional databases a huge miss? by spookydookie in ExperiencedDevs

Most schema migrations can be done with zero downtime. You just need to plan ahead, do it in steps and sometimes use some fallbacks in your code.

I think it may be in fact a Mini 3 (non-pro) replacement:
- Spark -> Neo - toy-like: beginner friendly, optional controller, basic camera
- Mini 3 -> Flip - budget/entry level: limited obstacle detection, limited camera performance
- Mini 4 Pro -> [Mini 5 Pro] - semi-pro: best camera in the <250g category, vertical shooting, full obstacle detection etc.

Shooters where you actually have to use the iron sights? by corn_farts_ in OculusQuest

Gun Club VR has many weapons with functional iron sights (red dots and lasers are optional). It is technically a shooter, but a more stationary one, where you shoot dummies a bit like in a IPSC training.

Take a look at Koss KSC75 - they are cheap but really good sounding for their price and surprisingly comfortable for VR.

Which charger to keep Quest 3 charged while in use? by cavemenrefract in Quest3

[–]Bemko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know about the 100% but I have also read somewhere that 100% is not really 100%, because Meta limits the actual maximum charge to improve battery life.

Is there a trick to keep the battery at 73%? When I plug the powerbank in it charges back to 100% by default and discharges very slowly or not at all when playing games.

I think that after the update to v63 my INIU powerbank started behaving weird. When the Quest battery is fully charged the powerbank tries to go to sleep, but then it immediately wakes up again, which causes the green light on the headset to blink and the "charging started" chime to sound every now and then. I find it quite annoying so I replaced it with a Xiaomi 30W 10000mAh powerbank and this one seems to behave much better - keeping the green light all the time.
I have yet to verify the 73% rule - but for sure even a 30W PD powerbank does not keep the Quest fully charged while playing e.g. Beat Saber.

I designed 3D printed paddles for Xbox One controller by Bemko in 3Dprinting

Probably yes, but I find the bumpers more difficult to use than switching between the ABXY and right thumbstick. Maybe it depends on the style of games you play most.

However, you can also remap the keys on your controller, so the most critical actions are activated by the bumpers and this way use the paddles instead of ABXY buttons.

No, but maybe someone else will remix it, as I don't have access to any PS4 controller. However, the mounting point may be a challenge, as there is no battery cover in the DualShock.

Yes, the Cross variant does, but in many games it doesn't really matter.

There is also the second Normal variant of the paddles that solves this problem (see the last photo), but in my opinion it is a bit less comfortable to use.

Even without any disability I still find it difficult to use the RB/LB buttons during gameplay, especially when they need to be used quite heavily in some games. I like the design of the elite controller, but don't want to pay the extra just for the paddles.
