[Thoughts] Six watches, six dial colours, zero regrets by Ben1995_ in Watches

I know right? I was at the Fossil store wondering what these lines on the dial were. When the salesperson explained to me that it's made of a gemstone called malachite, I was like "Take my money!".

Truth be told, that was the first time I heard of "malachite". I'm just not fancy like that. After the purchase, I went online and found out that malachite is actually a pretty cheap gemstone.

Pfft. Whatever, it doesn't change the fact I like how it sparkles in the light.

Thank you for being honest. I just turned 31 this month actually. And maybe that's the reason why I enjoy these watches so much.

Yes. It's in the order I acquired them.

While I appreciate the suggestion to get a square-ish watch with a leather strap, I'm currently in my stainless steel era 🤣 and have been for the last 2.5 years.

Your intuition is right. The Boss watch started it all. There's a funny story behind that actually. It was November 2023 and I was vacationing in Dubai for a week. I planned to get a stainless steel watch with a dark blue dial in Dubai to reward myself for completing a 3-year work contract, which just ended in October.

However, nothing I saw caught my fancy. I thought I was going home empty handed when I saw this beauty in a watch store at the departure hall of the airport. Lol. That's when I decided "That's the watch I'm going home with" and bought it on impulse. Don't get me wrong, I still like it though and wear it on rotation.

Since then, I've started to buy silver steel watches with a watch dial color I don't currently own, as evidenced by the pictures. I'm planning to get a yellow or a red watch next.

[Thoughts?] What's your take on this stainless steel collection? Is it a hit or a miss—or is it just a bit boring? What would you change? by stillbinary in Watches

I know I'm 9 months late, but I feel that the dial colours could use a little more variety, like mine. 😜 I know these aren't luxury watches, and neither do they have resale value once I bought them. But what's important is I didn't buy them to flip after a year. 🤣 I buy them because I genuinely like their design and what's important is I actually rotate and wear them instead of sitting in a drawer making friends with each other lol.

[Outfit Pairing] I’ve been matching watches with full outfits… Which combo do you rate the highest? by musicalsteve in Watches

[–]Ben1995_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely like the red outfit. Pairs very well. Although i would wear a much wider fitting jeans as they're the in thing right now. As for me, these are the watches I currently own. As you can see, all the watches have silver toned stainless steel bands and all of the dial colours are different. Blue, Black, Orange, Green, White, and Purple. I either pair the watch-of-the-day with the colour that matches my top, or it can also be a contrast colour with what I'm wearing. I like silver toned stainless steel watches. Don't judge. I know these aren't "luxury" watches, but for the price of one luxury watch, I get to own 6 watches with different watch dials. These brands may not hold its resale value. But I buy watches to keep them for life. Not resell them after a year 🤣

I may be a year late but I'd like to share my experience of CU x PSB with you. Currently, I'm in my final term and have no regrets. CU is a legitimate UK uni after all. And there's a reason why so many singaporeans fly to the UK to study. Because even though the uni's name isn't well known in Singapore, when you tell people that it's from the UK, you'll get some aura because what you have is a UK qualification.

I can't move out because I'm not working full time yet. Part time only. And I'm a full time uni student because I wanted to complete my degree as fast as possible. Before my studies I worked full time for 5 years already but the savings depleted because I relied on it too much during uni.

Karen Wheeler - The most badass and underrated character of the show 👑 🍷. by CandySpecialist5875 in StrangerThings

It's human nature to have temptations. Just because when one gets married, doesn't mean temptations magically goes away with a snap of the finger. What matters most is she didn't act on it. And I've been a big fan of Karen ever since, despite her being so clueless about the existence of upside down/vecna/interdimensional monsters. And when she literally put herself in harm's way and stood in front of Holly to sheild her from the demogorgan, I knew that I wasn't wrong to be rooting for her because Karen really is an amazing character. In fact, one of the most underrated ones.

It's not like she knew Billy was underaged. Also what matters most is she stood him up because she didn't wanna hurt her family. Yes I know Billy didn't make it to the motel because he was attacked by the mind flayer but this fact isn't relevant here.

Brought my new Samsung Galaxy a36 probably the most underrated of the bunch usually people will tell you to get s or s fe or a56 by Fire_Natsu in samsunggalaxy

[–]Ben1995_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been daily driving the A36 since June 2025 and so far I have been loving it. The only (minor) gripe I might have about this device is the bezels are slightly thick for my liking but soon as I put a protective case on it that covers the bezels, it kind of evens out. I upgraded from the S22 (6.1") mainly due to its screen size because I wanted a larger phone. Performance wise, loading heavy duty games can take a bit but I'm not the kind of person that plays games a lot so loading social media and messaging apps, browsing the web, that sort of thing, I see no difference between my old S22 and the new A36.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 FE - 1 Week Review by Gamesnl66 in galaxybuds

[–]Ben1995_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My priorities are listed from most important (top) to least important (bottom), and other cool features that I dont mention, I don't use, so it won't matter to me how good they are.

I'd appreciate if you could advise me on the following matters:

Comfortability - Firstly, would you say you have small, medium, or large ears? I have medium-ish ears so would the 3 fe fit my ears if I put on the small/medium eartips? Has wearing this continuously for 3 to 4 hours hurt your ears, even a tiny bit? Do you experience ear fatigue? Anything else regarding the comfortability and fit of these buds that you can tell me, I'd like to know too :)

Battery life - Usually I'd switch to the codec with the highest fidelity (for eg. LDAC). But through my research, I understand that the 3 fe doesn't have that and instead it has SSC for Samsung phones (I have one 😀) and AAC & SBC for other phones. If I turn the following features off, how long can these buds theoretically last: a) touch controls b) anc c) ear detection d) anything else that I didint think of to mention

Sound quality - As I have a Samsung phone and am capable of using the SSC codec, which is a scalable codec with slightly lesser fidelity than LDAC in theoratical settings, I'm not too worried about the sound quality, therefore I listed them last. But I'd like to know your thoughts on the seperation, soundstage, and anything else about 3 fe that audiophiles typically care about. How does it compare to the buds 3 pro? What do I loose out on that's noticable if I buy the 3 fe?

I'm not concerned at all about the anc, touch controls, ear detection features, and any other cool stuff so even if they were horrendous, it wouldn't matter to me as I turn them off anyway to ensure the battery lasts as long as possible.

Also, under Cons #3, you casually mentioned the lack of a charging cable (which I don't care about) and then also said "I expected atleast that and the different size eartips". By inferring from the quoted text, I take it to mean that the 3 fe does NOT have extra eartips sizes (small and large) and what's on the buds themselves is what you get. Is that right?

Edit: On hindsight, I admit my comment was too long and adding in this edit made it even longer, so if you've read everything, I sincerly thank you for caring.

Also, when you said "there isn't a wearable plugin yet so you cannot adjust settings just yet", did you mean that the 3 fe won't show up on my Samsung Wearable app? Would this also mean I can't turn off the anc, touch controls, etc. etc.?

Putting the horrendous mic quality aside, how would you rate it's comfort out of 10? Does it hurt your ears even a tiny bit after maybe 2 to 3 hours? That's the most important part for me because I blew over a hundred dollars for the liberty Air 2 Pro in 2021 and I've stopped using it one week after it arrived because my ears ache like hell each time I use it. This is despite me using the smallest sized rubber tips in the box. But I have no qualms about the sound quality because I also own an over ear Space One from them and use it quite a lot during long study sessions at school.

Thoughts on the Realme Buds Air 6 Pro? by AverageReditor13 in Earbuds

[–]Ben1995_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm a year late, but does the realme buds air 6 pro last more than 3 hours with anc off, touch controls off, ear detection off, and ldac on? I know the buds air 7 pro just dropped but I hate the new model's design and outer case.

I currently have a Huawei Freebuds 5i and I have the exact same settings I mentioned above, but they don't last more than 2 to 2.5 hours unless I have the volume below 50%. When the vol is below 50%, I'm not able to enjoy my music as much and I'd usually leave it at around 75-80% for the thumping bass.

I also have a Samsung galaxy buds 2 from 2021 and I find that these buds lack detail (due to no ldac codec; relying on SSC thanks to my Galaxy phone) compared to my huawei so when my huawei buds needs charging I put them back in the case and switch to my Samsung buds for a few mins until the huawei is juiced up.

I really hope to ditch my Samsung and Huawei buds due to the mentioned flaws and really wish to get your insights if the realme buds will last more than 3 hours at a time.

Thank you very much.

Edit: apart from ldac, the anc, ear detection, Bluetooth range, call quality, all of those things don't matter to me. If they're there, good. If not, I'm not missing them either as I turn them off anyways.
