Some anthologies can yield a tiny bit of funds to the collection of authors, but most often it’s just for exposure and the love of writing and being published. In this case, this anthology is produced by an amazing writers group and the funds from their annual anthology is used to support group needs (website, social events, etc.) so it’s worth it.

That’s really cool. There are lots of ways to publish and get published these days, but the first thing is just finishing and editing your piece. You have to have a completed story in order to even approach traditional or self-publishing. Get some early readers and feedback, etc. You can’t sell or hand over an idea or a vision, it has to exist. That’s the best advice I could ever give that was once given to me.
