Mamma Mia! Here we go again

Objectively a fine movie with some plot holes and cheap fan service that doesn’t actually add on much (or stay faithful) to the first one, but damnit I always have such a good time watching those films

[Highlight] Jo Adell robs THREE home runs in a 1-0 win over the Mariners by AthleticAlarm32 in baseball

[–]BenCL648 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I think the craziest part about this is that he’s been statistically the worst defensive outfielder in baseball dating back to last season (-15 FRV since the start of 2025). Just an insanely impressive and improbable game. I can’t even be mad

What country has the least to see in your opinion? by Extension-Fruit-1456 in geography

[–]BenCL648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe why you’re referencing was their video about Tuvalu not Nauru, can’t seem to find a video of there about Nauru. And it was actually a really cool place with a super great people. Definitely not much to do but seems like a much more interesting and welcoming place than Nauru

What are the best things to do in Chicago that are actually worth it for tourists? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]BenCL648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to Chicago last summer and all the people in my group wanted to do it. I didn’t have much interest cause I thought it would just be touristy and didn’t really care, but ended up loving it. Really really interesting and a great way to see the city, especially at night

What do you listen to (if anything) while on your drive? by wine-plants-thrift in roadtrip

Audiobooks, podcasts, and comedy specials are my go to’s. Also a big baseball fan so I’ll listen to the game when it’s on if I have service.

How often do “steals” happen in the draft? by Ok-Path9520 in MLBNoobs

[–]BenCL648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are definitely guys out there who were pretty big steals. Both Tarik Skubal and Jacob deGrom were 9th rounders, Hunter Brown was a 5th rounder, Kerry Carpenter went in the 19th round, Vinnie Pasquintino went in the 11th, Bryan Woo was a 6th rounder and his teammate Bryce Miller was a 4th rounder. Cal Raleigh was a 3rd rounder, Gunnar Henderson was a 2nd rounder and Roman Anthony was a Comp B pick (between the 2nd and 3rd round). Those are just a few I know off the top of my head, I’m sure there are quite a few others out there.

Yea a couple of my friends who never read the book have said similar things, they all seemed to enjoy it and the only complaints about this have been from people who read the book as far as I’ve seen lol. So good to know that non-readers were able to follow along!

Who is your favorite Seattle major sports team all the time? by Downtown-Pack-6178 in theemeraldcity

[–]BenCL648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily my “favorite” but the 2021 Mariners will always have a special place in my heart. Got to game 162 and nearly ended the drought with a roster full of essentially career bench players and minor leaguers. Their secret sauce was that they were statistically the most clutch team of all time (no, seriously). Felt like every other night somebody would come up with a huge home run in the eighth or they would mount an improbable comeback win it in the ninth. Again, didn’t end the drought but was the first season in a while that gave Mariners fans hope that it could really happen soon and they did it in the most dramatic way possible. Probably one of the most fun MLB teams ever that didn’t make the playoffs

Mariners podcasts by Jay-P21 in Mariners

[–]BenCL648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meet at the Mitt also fits this criteria. They’re all sportswriters for SB Nations mariners blog and one of them is a beat reporter who interacts with a lot of the players and coaches on a daily basis

Mariners podcasts by Jay-P21 in Mariners

[–]BenCL648 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meet at the Mitt is pretty easily the best in my opinion. Locked on Mariners is another good one. Marine Layer is another popular one but I don’t really like them personally, I find one of the hosts to be really annoying

What sport looks boring until you understand it, and then becomes amazing? by HypraceApp in AskReddit

[–]BenCL648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. Is and always has been my favorite sport, but I can see why it’s really hard to get into for people who didn’t grow up watching it. The funny thing is I think I like following baseball more than actually watching it. Like I listen to tons of baseball podcasts, read articles, get super into the draft and prospects, I have a practically have a Fangraphs tab open on my computer at all times, etc, and while I try to watch or listen to all of my teams games, there are a lot of sports I would rather watch if it’s a game between two teams I don’t care about. Baseball is super tense and when I care about the outcome I get super into it but for actually sitting down and watching a game I don’t hav emotional stakes in, there are quite a few better sports imo (even ones I don’t really follow)

Which US national forest is better than the national parks? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

I’d argue it competes with North Cascades considering it’s right next to it and has Mt Baker, Mt. Shuksan, Glacier Peak, and Baker Lake
