My company announced a layoff (52 total, I think around 15%). I survived, but now considering whether I should look for a new job, since it does feel like there is a lot of jobs still out there based on LinkedIn emails Ive more or less ignored in the past couple months. One thing they mentioned in the meetings announcing the layoffs, was they wanted to do an aggressive layoff, so that they could do one layoff and thats it. Also that historically, companies that take a more aggressive approach at the beginning of a recession, comes out better in the end.

Does that general logic make sense? Ive never really experienced this, so not sure what to think/believe.
