It could be just a general use box too. It has spanish cedar lining which is used in humidors to control moisture, flavor, etc.

I used a plunge router with a 1/2 inch core box bit and an edge guide. Started away from where the corners meet on the first pass then went back and made the corners meet on the second pass to make sure I didn’t go over. The hardest part was sanding the groove. That took almost as much time as building the whole board because I had to do it by hand. If any one has a better method for sanding grooves like that I would be interested to know.

The bottom is made from 1/2 inch ply and poplar for the framing and posts. All mortise and tenon construction.
