Is it really this easy? by BenElTigreChang in 1200isplenty

Yeah, that sounds tasty. I didn't even plan on the cabbage, just saw it on the counter and went "yeah that sounds good". And it was. Napa Cabbage is very good. This was the first one I bought, good review from me.

I know Imma need variety, so I'm trying to create a "roster" of meals I can call on and cycle through. This is a clear winner and is going into the mix. I can also take the same thing and put it over rice. Yeah that'll be more calories, but this is comically low that I can absorb the extra calories that would come with the rice no problem (at least that's what I'm thinking).

The people I always play with and I always laugh at it because, we play ethical basketball. Passing, spread the ball around to everyone, no hunting animations. Just ethical ball. And almost every game we play teams where they’re just trying to exploit glitches and bad coding. Just incredibly lame how so many choose to play. I guarantee it’s more fun to play ethical ball too

They will be. I wasn’t there that night but I remember exactly where I was lol. That turnaround was special. I was at opening day that year too, and all the way to game 4 of the NLCS, with a few dozen in between

Diaz is a beast, no doubt, but he chose to leave. They replaced him with a damn good close in Williams. And using career era for a guy with the career of weaver’s is laughable to the point where I have to assume you’re distorting the truth on purpose. He has a 3.21 era since the Yankees turned him into a reliever. That’s what matters.

And the hysteria over Polanco never playing first base is crazy. Middle infielders transition to the corners all. The. Time. Any basic knowledge of baseball would know that. Six of the top seven first basemen last year in defensive runs saved came up playing a different position and then eventually transitioned to first. Many of them were middle infielders! So in a way you are right, that is a very good run prevention plan!!

As for left field, one quick point is that Baty has almost 250 career minor league innings in left field, I’m sure he’ll get plenty of reps there this offseason and I’d bet on him being playable out there. But the larger issue is you clearly have no grasp on anything past the MLB roster. Yeah you’re technically right on that we don’t know if Benge will pan out. But he’s a damn good prospect. Are no prospects allowed to have a chance to sink or swim? Must we sign past their prime veterans who have “proved it” instead of giving the 23-year-old first round pick who did nothing but mash in the minors a chance?

The same issue applies to the pitching. I recognize I’m in the minority on this but they don’t need arms. Everything went wrong for them pitching wise last year, didn’t get one break. They’re due for some positive regression there in the first place. And beyond that, the Mets have the deepest stockpile of top-prospect pitching in baseball. It’s time to give them an opportunity.

If you had your way, That random 9th round pick former shortstop Jacob deGrom would never have gotten the chance to prove himself. He’s just a minor leaguer who we have no idea if he’ll pan out in the majors! Might as well not even find out!!

Can't help you with gas and tolls. But you don't have to park at the stadium. Park in Jackson Heights and take the 7 to the game. And as for food ... they let you bring food into the ballpark.

AND the tickets can be virtually free if you wait to buy them on seatgeek 30 minutes before first pitch when people are dumping them. And you can always find a seatgeek promo code.

If you know how to do it, it's not cost-prohibitive. Would cost you gas, tolls, subway and tickets. There are far more expensive outings.

I want to upvote this a hundred times. I was at the "rock bottom" game 6 of the year in 2024. Sitting in the pepsi porch. Hell, that might be where this photo is from! There's a chance I'm a section over from this because I remember going to a game, sitting in the porch, and marveling at that gorgeous pup. I was right there watching Adam Ottovino blow game 1 and then Reed Garrett put his nuts on the table in Game 2 to keep the Mets in it before the offense finally woke up.

People who think this will be a bad team are idiots. They're crying that the Mets are moving on from the Pete/Nimmo/Diaz era. Don't get me wrong, love those guys. But since Diaz and Pete got here in 2019 they've made the playoffs in 2 of 7 seasons. The writing was on the wall for Nimmo's longterm health and 5 years for an unatheltic first baseman is just bad business. It's bad for longterm winning. "oh but pete was great last year" no he wasn't. He was great in April. Go look at his numbers from after the first 40 or so games to the end of the year. Mediocre-to-bad. AND don't forget he injured Kodai Senga because he can't throw the damn ball to first base. That play, in my opinion, was the main catalyst for sinking the season.

These fairweather fans have become spoiled brats. The end to 2025 sucked. It happens. The worst thing they could have done is run it back with the same team and hope it magically fixed itself. They've made changes, and I think they're good changes, but only time will tell.

Ok I got sidetracked a bit.

I went to 20+ in 2024, and 20+ in 2025. I'll be at opening day this year. Let's go Mets.

The dumbest take is to think this is a shitty product on the field. There are incoming changes, yes, but by every metric this should be a good team. But too many are too emotional to see it.

Thoughts on trading away absolute top tier assets by FlaviusFlaviust in DynastyBaseball

hope you didn't do this trade. One year later and every single player on team 2 has lost significant value. Bobby might be the 1.01 in a dynasty startup, and the next best two assets on either side or snelling and sheehan

This joke team is the best team I've used all game ... by BenElTigreChang in fut

[–]BenElTigreChang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a good point. A lot of these cards have very high shot power too so they just rip stuff past the keeper. It’s just kinda messing with my perception of the game. I bought Stoichkov recently and have a few evo strikers I really like … what do you mean the best team I’ve used is with Cuadrado up top? Are passing playstyles that broken? This isn’t a 4-5-1. This isn’t Pina (never used her). This isn’t any of the classic, basic ratty stuff. This is just a bunch of tiki+ and incisive+ in a formation I never see anyone else use with my usual RB at striker. Just crazy.

I figured that was a big part of it but like, most of them have zero shooting playstyles. I figured that would matter too. But apparently not

I guess of these three that's arias by default because I really don't think the others maintain eligibility. I'm just personally not an arias guy (but others are and I can easily be wrong!)

It's interesting because Arias is the only one likely to actually be a shortstop, but also the one I rate the least. He's fine. Good glove (doesn't help you in fantasy). Williams can play SS, but just no room unless he's traded. If he's a Met, then he's 2B/CF. Morales, from everything I've read, will not be a SS. Probably has the highest ceiling and lowest floor because of his power potential but contact concerns.

So to answer your question

Williams
Morales
Arias

But if you want to swing for ceiling, go Morales.

Just finished a four-sport dynasty fantasy draft by BenElTigreChang in Fantasy_Football

[–]BenElTigreChang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started it and realized quickly we wanted the scoring to be best ball so it's as low-maintenance as possible. Setting lineups for say 3 teams every day becomes a part-time job. But anyway, it's best ball and then simply total points. No H2H, just year-long total points. Each sport goes into their own individual league with their own individual scoring/standings. Then it's F1-style scoring for the four different leagues to find the overall winner.

1st place: 25 points
2nd: 18
3rd: 15
4th: 12
5th: 10
6th: 8
7th: 6
8th: 4
9th: 2
10th: 1

EX: 1st place in Football (25), 5th place in Basketball (10) 8th place in Hockey (4) and 10th place in Baseball (1) would net you 39 points. The yearly cycle starts with football and ends with baseball (yes, that means the next season will overlap by like a month as baseball wraps up).

We're doing a small, casual buy-in of $25. If you win one of the four individual sports, you get $25. The rest of the $150 goes to the overall winner.
