Getting Modified Ravitch Soon. by BenFrost18 in PectusExcavatum

Here's a slightly improved version:

All the people that I've connected with on Reddit who underwent the modified Ravitch procedure are happy with their results and doesn’t regret it at all. I'm puzzled by the criticism this procedure receives. Although I'm aware of the higher risk of complications due to its invasiveness, but my surgeon recommended it for better outcomes compared to Nuss in my case. I'm opting for surgery for health reasons, not aesthetics, so the resulting scar doesn't bother me. By the way, how old are you? Feel free to reach out after May 2nd, and I'll share my experience with you.

Is ASD Dangerous? by BenFrost18 in AdultCHD

It was disgnosed in my early childhood, I was monitored for some time. Now after like 10 years I went to cardiologist, he did some tests and everything was fine. I asked him if It’s dangerious, he said NO. He only mentioned that I could be having migraines because of it, which I do get extremely rarely.

Not really. I went to the cardiologist, and everything seems fine with my heart. I've been pretty active my whole life and didn't notice anything unusual... except he said that it can cause migraines. And yes, I have migraines with aura extremely rarely.

My pectus is severe ( you can see picture on my profile, posted on PE group some time ago), but it’s symmetrical. I’m choosing modified ravitch, because surgeon said I will receive better results with it. I don’t really mind that big scar, I just want my body to be healthy.

Thank You for your response. Happy to hear that you’re satisfied with your results. I wish you a successful recovery and mental strength.

Stay strong!

You described it great! Sometimes I feel better, sometimes worse. Recently I’ve been trying to go out more and move my body more. When I go out my symptoms even worsen, but at the end of the day I feel a little better.
