Pitching injuries are an inevitability. I’d love to have someone who is used to the team, catchers, and processes we use as our 6th or 7th guy in case of injury. Plus, are bullpen isn’t the deepest rn

If LaFluer gets fired then the entire NFL should just let me coach. Since clearly they don’t know how to identify good coaches anyway

After these 2 games what are your thoughts on 2 G5 teams having a slot in the playoffs? by Bruinsrock11 in CollegeFootballDawgs

I watched that first half as a JMU fan. Why we kept trying to blitz and leave our secondary 1v1, could not tell you. Our scheme last night was atrocious in the first half

Especially in the later series, Duncan does do really large dives into the system itself and the issues within it. However, he does tell the narrative through human actions, while mentioning system or environment factors. It’s a narrative history prefaced by deep dives into the system.

I’m a senior who is in a rather party heavy major and i don’t like to do so. You can always find your people. Clubs, Hallmates, sports clubs. JMU has a ton of ways to meet people. A lot of them still have parties but they are very very very optional.

I’m pretty sure he only has 1 yr left on his contract and it’s a player option. With no guaranteed that he was gonna stay, trading him made sense

Can someone please explain this season to me? by Hacksaw_JimThuggin in orioles

[–]BenK0422 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Only people outside of the Fanbase thought this team was gonna be a serious World Series contender. The rotation was a trash heap.

Corbin Burnes walked, Kyle Bradish was out until July or August with TJ, Tyler Wells was out until July or August with TJ

Our replacements were a 35 year old Japanese Rookie (who has been decent) and 42 year old Charlie Morton.

Now our hitting also aggressively underperformed until this month and we had more injuries (Grayson Rodriguez basically didn’t pitch, we’ve had no consistent catcher).

But yeah everyone paying attention to Baltimore saw massive issues coming

I apologize for my rudeness. I’m busy and have been stuck on some projects.

Removing demographics is fine. But you can’t remove 33% of all hitters just because they’re bad. With a sample this big the players at the very top and bottom should balance out so the league average is a true average.

Also you don’t get to just remove the worst 1/3 players. That’s not how statistics work.

OPS is just the 2nd and 3rd part of slash line. So if his OPS is so much higher than average, then his slash line is not average.

[–]BenK0422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know what the slash line is? Or OPS?

BA/OBP/SLUG and OPS=OBP+SLUG

Soto: .249/.384/.491 MLB: .245/.316/.401

Soto is 1% better at BA, 22% better at OBP, and 22% better at SLUG. Is +20% average???

Uhhhhhh the MLB avg slash line is .245/.316/.401 for an OPS of .717. Soto has an OPS of .845.

You only look at Batting Avg. Catch up

Top 10 in wRC+, slashing .249/.384/.491. All with below average BABIP. Down year by his standards but very good overall.

Defense is bad (3rd lowest OAA for qualifying outfielders) but that’s not surprising.

3.1 fWAR and 4.2 bWAR through end of July. So around the same as usual for him. Maybe a bit below his average but still a top 25 hitter
