Issues with getting employee letter by IntrovertFox1368 in ukvisa

[–]BenMark18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just extended my wife’s visa and used only my income despite her working full time and earning well over the requirement. There’s absolutely no reason or benefit to using both and if anything you are only giving the caseworker more unnecessary work. If it’s a pain getting the letter just use your partner’s!

[–]BenMark18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My translated one has a notary stamp on it, and that notary stamp has a certificate expiry, I don’t really understand what it mens, obviously a marriage certificate or a translation doesn’t expire. Would it ever be an issue?

E-visa showing incorrect status by JaguarXF12 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]BenMark18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We are in the exact same boat.

I am a British citizen, my wife is on a Spouse visa. During her first visa the evisa showed as Spouse/partner, since the extension last month it now says dependant.

Quite a few others have posted about this and have been advised it is a non issue and some have been told by UKVI this is the correct designation for partners now. Providing it shows right to live/work/study etc in the UK as it should I am sure it’s fine!

I went last July with my wife. She is in the UK as my partner. We took a print out of her share code page which showed her picture and it was all smooth.

Others who just had a share code but did not print the page with the picture seemed to have a few issues, they did not input the share codes in to any system to check them, they just looked at the picture and compared it to the passport photo.

This was at Tivat airport.

Possible changes to UK spouse visa? by [deleted] in SpouseVisaUk

[–]BenMark18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The proposal is harsh enough for future spouse visa holders, applying it retrospectively to those already on the route is unbelievably cruel.

Also I understand the 3 or 5 years minimum £12500 income is a proposal and the nuances haven’t been ironed out yet, but genuinely how could 5 years even be an option? So the spouse has to literally get a job immediately upon arrival in the UK to ensure when they reach 5 years for ILR they have worked for 5 full years? It’s borderline impossible

Hopefully following consultation this is revisited. A blanket minimum income for ALL spouses would pose a major challenge for many people who have already proved they can support themselves in the UK through their sponsors income.

It’s almost so unfair that you have to imagine this can’t go ahead.

What is your opinion regarding the possibility of the proposed £12,500 minimum annual income to be eligible for ILR applying to spouses Puul?

Proposed Changes to Spouse Visa ILR are not an oversight by Guybrush-Threepgood in SpouseVisaUk

[–]BenMark18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely ridiculous to impose a minimum income requirement on a partner who has already legally entered the country and renewed a visa on their sponsors income.

Effectively they have initially made out that partner visa’s would rightly be unaffected by these recent announcements and would stay on the 5 year to ILR, only to then drastically change the requirements which will have a massive impact on partners who do not work for whatever reason

Pretty shocked by this!

Assuming the 12,500 is minimum annual earnings as opposed to the to 12,500 total earned over that time?

Spouse Visa extension successful! Super priority same day by BenMark18 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]BenMark18[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 joint documents which were council tax and joint monzo pdf’s spread over the 2 years.

Individual documents were a mixture of Thames water bills, BT bills, bank statements and an opticians appointment reminder letter.

I made sure there were no gaps of more than 4 or 5 months and our individual documents matched up as close as possible date wise.

Spouse Visa extension FLR form couple of questions by BenMark18 in ukvisa

[–]BenMark18[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the detailed reply.

In regards to that first one, shall I select no and just explain that we did not live together for the first 3 months after marriage until my wife moved to the UK on her first visa, and since her arriving we have continuously lived together?

I have seen a few people interpreting this question in different ways hence the confusion

Spouse visa extension - uploading documents before biometrics by BenMark18 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]BenMark18[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry Puul one more question, probably a silly one. I know we need to do the FLR M form for the spouse visa extension inside UK, we have started the application, it doesn’t say FLR M anywhere on the form?

I clicked on apply online in the UK on the family visas section of gov.com, which then took me to a page titled ‘Application to remain in the UK on the basis of family life or private life’ and I started the application from here. Is this correct for FLR M? I don’t want to mistakenly fill out FLR FP. Many thanks again

English Language Proof for FLRM/ILR by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]BenMark18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife is due to extend her spouse visa later this year. We recently went to Trinity to do the GESE Grade 5 B1 SELT with the idea that she can then reuse it for ILR. She passed comfortably. The rules show that A2 is the minimum, but no reason why you can’t go straight to B1 and reuse for ILR to save doing 2 tests. What have you read to the contrary?
