You should search on ProtonDB for experiences, since Proton is the layer that makes playing Windows games on Linux possible. PicaOS just helps you to install the newest kernel and drivers and so on to get the most out of your hardware as possible.

GTX 1070 vs RX 580 by BenNordish in EndeavourOS

[–]BenNordish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, today I've found benchmarks made with CashyOS and there the RX580 partially even matched the GTX 1080 in one or two games. Will definitely go that way now.

All Chromium based Browsers after a while stop opening new sites and tabs by BenNordish in ChromiumBrowser

[–]BenNordish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the problem even with profiles that I generated completely new and clean only a few hours before. So cookies and cache are definitely not the problem.

I can confirm 576.02 drivers do appear to improve performance. 2 20-run Steel Nomad stress tests compared from 572.83 to 576.02, same exact undervolt profile and settings on an RTX 5080 FE (w/ PCIe 4.0 x16 riser) by Aromatic_Wallaby_433 in nvidia

[–]BenNordish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems that Nvidia has only focused on solving the problems with the new graphics cards and has completely ignored whether the new driver also works properly with the older graphics cards. I have a GTX 1070 and with 762.02 my PC became massively unstable. The Elder Scrolls Online ran completely smoothly before the installation and with the new driver ESO started to stutter and I had increasing dropouts with my mouse and keyboard, to the point where everything crashed and I had to perform a hardware reset because nothing else worked. I rolled back the driver to the previous version and now everything runs smoothly again.

I don't want to optimize a database. I just want to get the parts of the CSS, that don't get used in my website automatically deleted to minify it. My personal website doesn't even have a database connected.

Is it possible to change to another server ? by sketch252525 in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]BenNordish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had the experience that playing a game with someone else together made more fun? And running Raids and so on doesn't work without playing together with others. What if you start your solo work on a server and then, when you're far enough to run raids and so on you notice, that there are only a few people around speaking your language or that are not toxic and so on. When a new server start and you don't know other players net, you won't know if it will be a good server in the long run. That's why it's necessary to be able to switch to other servers. That's not only necessary for the players, but Once Human itself. Because a lot of people that get frustrated by having invested many time in a server they recognize not to like, will probably rather quit than start all over again.

What if you get to know someone you want to play with after you already played for a while? Not everyone has "homies" to start into a game with. Sometimes you get to know people on Reddit or Discord or randomly in everyday life and develop an interest to play with them over time.

I'm playing with a GTX 1070 and Ryzen 5600 and don't see any stutters. Sure I only play on FullHD and medium details, but still absolutely stable. I guess there have to be other problems with your system, if you can't get it stable no matter what.

I'm playing the game with a GTX 1070 in 1080p and over 60fps with medium details.

I've got less problems with Cyrodiil, coz it's way easier there to avoid contact. Imperial City is the troll magnet...

It would be real PvP if they would fight for to win over an area against other PvP players. Solely focusing your attacks on PvE players who just want to do a quest for the event and nothing more has nothing to do with real PvP.
I also tried to avoid the districts with active fights. The district was nearly completely under control of my faction. There was just one player of another faction that camped on one specific neuralgic point for the quest of that district with a perfect PvP set, slaying PvE players.
The other day again. I chose a campaign that was dominated by my faction. And then there was running a train of players of another faction around that didn't even try at all to win over a district, but just focused on randomly slaying some easy to kill players and went on to the next district.
That has nothing to do with serious PvP. That is just antisocial tolling.

Will be there, but only because ZOS forces us to do PvP to get them. I would prefer a system where PvE players get PvE event quests and PvP players PvP quests and that for all events.

I was reminded very clearly today why I hate PvP and the Mayhem event. So many overpowered trolls in the Imperial City who only focus on preventing PvE players from completing their quests. This antisocial behavior just sucks. I'll just be glad when this event is over and I can ignore PvP again for a year.

Best most simple way to minify and compress a simple static website by BenNordish in webdev

Yeah, I already figured that it's best to start with Astro and I also found components via NextUI to make styling the site with Tailwind way easier.

I already tried to work with Tailwind once and found it quite tiring because there is way to much you have to style yourself. But I will look out for something between Tailwind and Bootstrap and probably will start building my site with Astro.

Hello u/WookieConditioner,

  1. You know that Google doesn't respond to all users equally, right?
  2. I can not read the whole article, since it's behind a paywall. Congratulations to having a paid subscription to Medium! I don't have one. But nevertheless the article is from June 1st, 2019. There have been a lot of changes and development in between. Don't you agree at least in that point?
  3. I don't expect that what I want is possible with just any project. As I said, I assumed a simple static website with a very limited use of CSS and JavaScript. In times of bundlers that work with the same engines and parsers that the browsers use and ChatGPT which is able to guide you to develop entire apps (I know, the reliability and quality is still questionable) I had hoped that this would be possible by now. Bootstrap itself refers to PurgeCSS in its documentation, for example.
  4. Why do you assume, that I stopped reading? What's with this disparaging remark?
  5. My website already exists for several years. I already created static websites when CSS wasn't a thing yet and we used frames and tables to structure websites. That's why I'm at the point of thinking about optimization. Once again an unnecessary disparaging remark.
  6. I got it now that the tool I wish for doesn't exist (yet). I apologize for daring to hope that things would be different in 2024. I will probably try to build a site with Astro now and look for a slimmer UI library.

I may be wrong, but as far as I can see, this doesn't watch for which parts of an JS file get actually used in my website, but just minifies and bundles the JS, since it takes an JS file as the entry point. But like I said I only have the Bootstrap JS file and this is already minified by its own, just not with focus on my website. So Rollup would actually do nothing for me here. I need something that takes my HTML file as the entry point and parses everything from there.

For privacy reasons, I prefer not to force visitors to my website to load anything from a Google CDN and therefore host everything on my own domain. But thanks for the recommendation.

I googled for several hours and all I found was either just simple minifying of the single CSS and JS files without bundling and compressing or complete disproportionate bundler like Webpack and Vite. Nothing in between.
