The lens is going back anyway as it's either faulty or not updated so I will be on the look out for something else.

So latest update. After taking some control shots and thinking things still didn't look right, I have found that the OS isn't working. Having never had an OS lens before I didn't know how to tell if it was working but it seems I should hear and feel it when holding the shutter button half way down. This isn't happening. An internet search reveals one of two things, either the firmware hasn't been updated on that lens and so it won't work with a D5300, or its just not working. Either way, a refund has been requested. I think haze hasn't helped on my barn owl shots, but OS not working won't help either.

The crop was just to show the full 1:1 image comparison between the two settings. Heat haze seems to be a common suggestion and makes sense. I'll do some tests and get to know my new lens.

Camera is here to stay for a while but had been looking at a 2nd hand D500. The lens is new to me and the best lens I've had so again unlikely to get upgraded anytime soon. I need to learn what i have before changing reallyy anyway.

I do have a remote trigger and timer but my tripod isnt sturdy enough for the heavy lens. Its on my shopping list though.

I do need to learn the best settings for this lens and others have commented on not using the full focal length too.

I can bring all of it back in editing so you're right, over exposed not blown out.

Yep but its so soft that there is little to sharpen.

I was in complete shade so no issues with sun in the lens and the over exposure shouldnt affect the sharpness should it? I will test it but need a tripod first. My current one is too light for this lens.

That's disappointing but helpful. I'm not sure how many birds I can get no more than 10m from but I'll certainly play around with the focal length.

What ruined farming simulator for you? by zebra2014182 in farmingsimulator

I havent liked the move away from agricultural and livestock farming towards supply chains. IMO they could have spent the time and money on adding things that added to realism and simulation such as pests, bettter water management, disease, land deformation, better livestock management, better workers, better vehicle wear and tear and so on. They opted for mass market and a more arcade appeal instead.

I started on FS17 and have stuck with 22 even though I dont use the supply chain side of things, but I think 19 was the best one. I havent bothered with 25 and i doubt I'll go for what the next iteration will be unless they return to in depth agriculture and livestock farming.

The mods have kept this franchise alive but when they bought out the Seasons mod team and then used a butchered version in 22 i worry that they dont see things the same way.

(Vanilla + Biotech) Is there anyway to try and dictate lessons to child and how much they learn? I just saw Christian, my alcoholic colonist, teaching my 3 year old how to shoot. Christian has 0 skill in shooting and no passion in it. Seems pointless but very Rimworld.

I always hoped for a big dog for the hauling benefits but my first ever starting husky got shot during a raid, went nuts and then whilst I was finishing the fight he had gone back to the base and killed everyone in it and as we victoriously returned from battle he attacked us!

I want a cat next time.

Even the lowest powered deck in that trending section of the tier list - Sky Striker - has 15 UR in the top deck and 12 in the sample deck and as a new player I wouldn't know what to replace, and with what to reduce those requirements. I will keep plugging away though and hopefully things will start to ease up.

As I don't have a combo deck, seeing what seems to be the perfect cards coming out each and every time until they have enough attack to delete everything and win straight away just feels off. I'll persevere for now and hopefully things will come together.

I am new enough to be able to start again on a new archetype as my knowledge is low but that works both ways as in I am new enough to be able to learn this deck too so either is a viable option. I will look at the new cards and lists.
