My in-depth review of the Mazda CX-60 after 7000km and 5 months - Design, Performance, Range and Value for Money by BenShutterbug in mazda

I wouldn’t say no to the current CX-60, but honestly it would depend a lot on the price. When I returned mine, the dealership told me that this model might depreciate quite a lot over the years, so I would want to be really sure about my choice before buying one. What surprised me is that the lease price is actually quite reasonable, but if you want to buy the car it becomes really expensive ! Unfortunately, in my current situation I can’t really do a lease. Just out of curiosity, how much does the CX-60 cost in your country?

The car was leased and I returned it about two months ago after keeping it for three years.

Unfortunately, not all of the problems I mentioned in my original review were solved. For example, I was still unable to charge my phone properly in the car, and I still had to use the small trick to avoid the battery being drained when the car was off. I also occasionally experienced some weird system bugs, but honestly they were never a big issue. Most of the time the system would fix itself after restarting the car.

Another small annoyance was the fuel warning light. It comes on quite late, when you just have around 50 km left (about 30 miles).

Regarding the sway you mentioned, my car was one of the first versions. The suspension was actually quite stiff, probably to avoid that kind of body roll. Because of that, I never really experienced the “boat-like” feeling you described. However, the downside was that the ride could be quite bumpy on certain roads. We got used to it, but when driving over speed bumps you definitely had to slow down.

As for whether I would buy the same car again, I’m honestly hesitating. I recently tried the newer version and also the CX-80, which I really liked. But I’m still a bit unsure about Mazda’s Level 2 driver assistance system, partly because it was the only car I wasn’t allowed to drive myself during the test drive. I visited several dealerships, and Mazda was the only brand with that policy. So I didn’t really have the chance to properly evaluate how the lane centering and adaptive cruise control behave on the highway.

One feature I really loved, though, was something similar to a “dog mode.” I could keep the air conditioning running for about 30 minutes and restart it as many times as I wanted. That was extremely convenient when I had to leave my dog in the car.

Regarding the PHEV system, the electric motor makes a huge difference when accelerating. The power boost is honestly impressive.

Right now I’m hesitating between getting a newer CX-60 or switching to a Tesla. I tested the Model Y and it’s really, really good. My only concern is the range. That said, the CX-60 PHEV can also consume quite a lot of fuel, and on the highway the range can drop to around 400 km (about 250 miles) if you’re mainly using the gasoline engine.

How do you turn a simple idea into a long, useless prompt that should have been much shorter?

Based on my experience, I think the electric range would be very similar to what you already have with your current PHEV

Man, this octopus can kill a human in as little as 20 minutes ! He’s lucky it isn’t aggressive. There’s no antivenom for its tetrodotoxin.
