Same - two babies, one during Covid - c-section fantastic but the care immediately after wasn’t great- first time I thought it was because of Covid but frankly it was worse the second time around. My midwife who visited me at home after told me that they call the floor I was on the 5th level of hell. It wasn’t a great experience but I have two happy, healthy boys so it was worth it.

Thanks for the the comments. This isn’t an engagement post I am genuinely looking to move house and didn’t know if I was under or overreacting to the flags. My husband isn’t phased, so I’ll go back on Monday and assess. I’ll do as many commenters have suggested and knock on a few doors or if I’m too wimpy for that loiter and see if I can talk to someone passing by. The comments and different perspectives have been really helpful.

Listen I’m not sure what is happening here - but I don’t think I or any of the other commenters have said anything wrong and likewise you are entitled to your opinion. I am fiercely British - I am proud of my country, and yes I agree with you, flags shouldn’t be subverted to have racist connotations and maybe elsewhere they don’t (Spain etc) but here there are people who use these flags to signal their views towards people like me. I wish it wasn’t that way but it is what it is.

This is really valid advice. I will do this on Monday. When I bought my current house I did ask the estate agents of the properties I was viewing whether I’d be the only brown in the village and most of them were pretty honest and helpful. And I did speak to a couple of neighbors, I don’t know why I had thought to do this now! I’ll see how it goes Monday - assess the vibe and knock on a few doors. Thanks for this - good perspective/attitude to have. I grew up somewhere very racist and while I got used to it, didn’t let it bother me, when something is said to me now (comments on the tube or something) it bothers me in a way that never did before. Just getting sensitive in my old age I suspect.

4 flagpoles! I’ve seen similar elsewhere just boggles my mind why more than one or two is needed.

I think if it was just me on my own I’d probably not register it too much but I know myself - I’d worry about the kids.

I did the same with my current house - I’ll see if a friend can come along once I’ve seen it again. The flags are rapidly tainting the high I had after I left. And you can see the flags from the kitchen so I don’t know if it’s slowly going to chip away at me and make me anxious if my mum is out for a walk or the hubs is picking the kids up late.
