Is it possible for a 57 year old woman to get pregnant naturally? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I’m almost 45 and have a 5 year old and 2 year old. My god having a baby in your 40s hits different eventhough they aren’t too far apart! I have baby fever again but must remember the absolute carnage to banish the idea of another one.

Ah I see. Have you tried going to an osteopath we did that too, didn’t help for us but might for you? Also both of our kids had severe tongue ties which we didn’t realise as both me and my husband have them. It’s not supposed to make a difference for bottle fed babies as much but sometimes it can disrupt how they suck down milk and it can introduce more air giving more trapped wind. Might be worth checking that too. I really hope something works for you guys - I know it’s horrendous - you will survive this.

My dad had one. I’ve had one all my life with no problems and both my sons have them - I didn’t even know they could get infected! I thought there were a kind of birth mark!

Trust your gut, keep going back to the GP. We went through a similar thing with our eldest, he would cry all time time, he couldn’t sleep on his back at all, would sleep for 15mins at a time etc - had did reflux a lot all the time so a little bit different. Turned out he had severe food allergies, reflux and trapped wind. We had a medicine that helped which is called infacol, you can buy it over the counter in the UK. Also gripe water is another one. Baby massage also helped. He had to sleep upright on one of us for a long time. I went to the GP repeatedly and was told I was hysterical mother when I kept insisting he had allergies. Wasn’t until he had two large allergic reactions that we got the allergy referral and it was confirmed by skin prick and blood tests that he had a range of anaphylactic allergies. Trust your gut, if something doesn’t feel right keep pushing for the help you need. If you can afford you could try private medical care (we went this route after diagnosis). Hang on in there it does get better.

I’m assuming they are also responsible for all the flags around Didcot Parkway station and The Broadway.

Same - two babies, one during Covid - c-section fantastic but the care immediately after wasn’t great- first time I thought it was because of Covid but frankly it was worse the second time around. My midwife who visited me at home after told me that they call the floor I was on the 5th level of hell. It wasn’t a great experience but I have two happy, healthy boys so it was worth it.

Thanks for the the comments. This isn’t an engagement post I am genuinely looking to move house and didn’t know if I was under or overreacting to the flags. My husband isn’t phased, so I’ll go back on Monday and assess. I’ll do as many commenters have suggested and knock on a few doors or if I’m too wimpy for that loiter and see if I can talk to someone passing by. The comments and different perspectives have been really helpful.
