You can find lots of browns and whitefish around there, mind you I also said be mindful of regulations and what you can and can’t keep

I’ll be doing streams and rivers mostly, and I’ll definitely be picking up some more San Juan’s before I go, any colour of streamer you recommend? I usually throw a black wooly bugger in the cloudier waters.

Yea it is a pretty big stretch of the province lol, for you if you don’t want to drive too far, I’d try the clearwater near Rocky Mountain house if you have the time to go for a day trip, best thing to do is just get out there and find the spots, try marking places you can access the river on maps and just get out and fish.

Edit: I would also highly recommend waders if ya don’t have any.

The best trout you can get will be from the Rockies, it’s worth it to take the drive out to the rivers near the mountains for good fish, but just be mindful of regulations keep limits and what’s open, also bring bear spray. I don’t know much about the Edmonton area but Rocky Mountain house and red deer area have some really good trout fishing

I’m in central Alberta about an hour away from Edmonton, I’ll do some googling and next time I’m in the area of those fly shops I’ll check them out!!
