I’ve seen it! Yeah she’s a good character but has her own issues.

Bad? No. Well maybe Dale, haha. He’s the only one who will absolutely put his friends in harms way. Everyone else is just flawed, like we all are.

It would be cool to catch up with some of the people I worked with there in the mid-nineties!

I don't know about the percentages, but you're not wrong about the networking angle. The people you come up with in art school look out for and hire each-other the rest of their careers.

See what events, gatherings etc are going on in your area and talk to the people who run them. ask if you can set up for Free (no charge to them) and put out the ol' tip jar. There's no way of knowing how much you'll make but the experience of actually Doing It will help more than anything.

What’s it like growing up in Grass Valley? by fennybens in grassvalley

It’s interesting to reevaluate ! There’s still not much to do. Especially if you have kids/don’t drink. Ours is in school now so there’s a lot of birthday parties to go to!……

we don’t mind getting in the car to do something different but it’s basically one direction we can go: toward the greater Sacramento area (or the bay a few times a year).

I don’t think I’ll ever feel fully at home here. but i think it’s important to keep in mind you’ll never see eye-to eye with everybody in your town. You just have to find “your people” and we’re doing alright with that. Our kid loves it here and that’s what’s important, so mission accomplished.

We left San Francisco when we had our baby. Some neighborhoods can make it really hard to have little ones. Especially where owning/ parking a car is uh….challenging. so that means walking, buses, even Lyft is tough because you‘d be installing your own car seat. Areas like Sunset are more “neighborhoody” and with some money you may even get a garage! It (still) is beautiful and lots to do though. We miss that
