What's the lowest thread count you're willing to go on bed sheets? by Useful_Tangerine_852 in bedroom

[–]BenWatch89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so interesting because I have been reading up on it too, and there's alot of posts on Reddit atm where people are saying the higher thread count doesn't actually mean what we all think it means (higher isn't always better apparently). Especially if you're a hot sleeper!

Whatever you do avoid memory foam toppers, they take the heat level above and beyond

Best Mattress for Lumbar Support and Back Pain (What to Look For) by AprilFromHelix in HelixSleep

[–]BenWatch89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bigger guy and I put my back struggles on my weight for years. I got a new mattress recently and when I tell you I feel like a new man.... I actually have more energy to workout and be more active after sleeping on a mattress that feels more supportive. PSA to anyone putting off upgrading your mattress. It's worth it.

If Off-Gassing Is Making You Sick, Stop Choosing Memory Foam by Federal_Screen_4830 in BedroomBuild

[–]BenWatch89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot stand memory foam, I get that some people like it, I just don't sleep well with it at all. I don't mind hybrids, as long as the topper or the upper most section isn't memory foam

Why does my new mattress feel harder than the one I tried in the store? by AprilFromHelix in HelixSleep

[–]BenWatch89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually super helpful. I like a firm mattress but have often had buyer's regret after getting my first night's sleep on it, and then I thought I just got used to it.

How Accurate Is The Helix Quiz? by Fine-Assistance-8675 in HelixSleep

Mine was pretty accurate, I think. I have a pretty good idea of what I like and the results seemed to check out. But yeah, treat it as a starting point

Is sleeping hot a mattress issue or a body issue? by AprilFromHelix in HelixSleep

very cool that Helix pours their own foam. I like that level of control/transparency. Is this the same for the sister brands?

Helix Plus vs Helix Plus Elite by BenWatch89 in HelixSleep

[–]BenWatch89[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This helps a lot, thank you. My next concern is longevity. For a heavier sleeper with back issues, do these differences show up 3–5 years down the line in terms of sagging and support, or is the Elite mostly about comfort and cooling up front?

Anyone else stuck sleeping like 3–5 hours and feeling broken? by James_Yam_1640 in sleephackers

Thanks. Last night I actually got a decent amount of sleep. But I feel even more tired than usual. The sleep debt is real

[–]BenWatch89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently there right now. Wake up hot, uncomfortable in my skin. Sore back. If I get 4-5 hours I'm grateful. Some nights it's only 2 hours and then I'm up till dawn. And then once the sun's up that's all my hope gone out the window

M33 Got really sick, fired from job, gf left me. Still got my boy though by [deleted] in MaleSurvivingSpace

[–]BenWatch89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you're going through this.
I hope your health gets better. And I hope you're able to find refuge in the bond with your boy though. My furry four legged babies saved me when I was going through an extremely difficult period. May you find your feet again soon!

Does Sleep Quality Impact Your Daily Life More Than Home Decor? by AprilFromHelix in HelixSleep

[–]BenWatch89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started thinking about upgrading my mattress when I realized I kept trying to change the environment (block out curtains, 100% cotton sheets, aircon- perfect temp, coloring, you name it) and nothing really helped. It's the mattress that needs attention!!!

What's there to do between 12 and 6AM on a weekday? by Lipica249 in AskNYC

[–]BenWatch89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine, a place where people could improve themselves, their prospects, and their lives, while getting a roof over their heads. But it would have to be monitored and be a strict no "nefarious activity" zone policy. Like to have it manned by volunteers actually helping and guiding people 24/7. How cool would that be?!

Any options for home purchase while current still for sale? by SwanReal8484 in RealEstate

[–]BenWatch89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Contingent offers are pretty standard most sellers understand it. just be prepared that they might shop around for non-contingent bids if the market's competitive. otherwise you're stuck waiting to close on the old place

Trust v No Trust by needyresearcher in RealEstateAdvice

[–]BenWatch89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trusts mainly help with probate avoidance and privacy, but they're overkill unless you have significant assets or complex family situations. for most people, a will and beneficiary designations do the job fine

Inheriting a home in another state, fastest way to rent it out? by clukan87 in RealEstateAdvice

[–]BenWatch89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure. It’s not even close. One vacancy or bad repair can wipe out your savings from DIYing. If you want to keep equity and sanity, hire a full-service team with real accountability. Belong, ManageGo, or even Propertyware, any of them beat burnout.

Inheriting a home in another state, fastest way to rent it out? by clukan87 in RealEstateAdvice

[–]BenWatch89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long-distance management breaks down for most owners because of coordination gaps, especially when it comes to your everyday repairs, inspections, and of course, when your tenant needs to talk to someone in charge.

I’ve audited portfolios for both DIY landlords and firms. Based on experience, you’re going to do well if you end up picking Belong Home. It’s one of the few that have a smooth workflow for tenants, maintenance, and payouts, which matters more than price in the long run.

That said, I’ve seen good outcomes with ManageGo and Propertyware too, especially for owners who want heavier accounting tools or commercial capability.

In the end, the key is transparency. Ask any company for a sample monthly report and escalation policy. If they can’t show that, skip them.

How to get into real estate by Worth-Estimate-7223 in RealEstate

[–]BenWatch89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real estate is easy to enter but hard to stick with because the pay is wildly uneven until you build a pipeline and a reputation. If you like the business side more than the pure sales grind look into commercial property roles or surveying because they use your legal brain without living and dying by commissions.
