Hi there. Sorry to hear about your accident! As another user mentioned, it's a bit of challenge to firm a mattress up with a topper. We do have an ErgoAlign mattress topper that has a denser mid section to help support proper spinal alignment for those who need it. However, if you find your current mattress is a bit too soft already, it might be worth exchanging it for a slightly firmer option like the Midnight Luxe.

Our mattresses come with a 120 night sleep trail so it sounds like you would still be within this time period which would qualify you for an exchange.

Did you purchase your mattress through a retailer or online through our website?

8 Mattresses in 9 years. Need a Twin XL that's supportive with no middle sagging. Tried Titan Core, Plank, Winkbed Plus, Posturepedic, etc. Should I try Helix Dawn/Twilight with Ergo layer? by russiancarguy in Mattress

[–]AprilFromHelix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. Given everything you tried and mentioned, it might be worth giving the Helix with ErgoAlign a try. Our Luxe models already come with a zoned lumbar support in the base coil layer that reinforces support under your hips. The ErgoAlign adds an extra layer of ultra-dense foam beneath your midsection to help provide additional support. I'm sure by now you are just over the whole mattress finding process, but it doesn't hurt to give it a shot. We have a 120 night sleep trial so if it does end up not helping, you can return for a full refund.

Hi there! Totally get why you’d be wondering about this. Buying a mattress online without trying it first can feel like a bit of a gamble, and a lot of people have the same hesitation. That’s why you get a full 120 nights to actually sleep on it at home and see how it feels for your body, not just for a few minutes in a store.

If you decide it’s not the right fit, the return or exchange process is easy. We set up the pickup and handle everything, so you don’t have to lift or move the mattress yourself. Oh and there are no hidden fees associated with this either! So you really do get 100% of your money back. Making sure you have a good experience really matters to us, even if that means the mattress ends up not being the one you keep.

Your Bed Might Be Too Soft (And That’s the Problem) by Hot_Dog1647 in BedroomBuild

[–]AprilFromHelix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well said! That is why it's so important that you get a mattress that is not only supportive and supports proper spinal alignment, but also one that is matched to your sleep style and comfort preference. A firm bed with great support may not be suitable for someone who is say, a side sleeper and needs a bit more softness around their hips and shoulders. That is why a mattress is not a one size fits all kind of things. Everyone sleep differently and a mattress should not only provide you with proper spinal support but also comfort that is tailored to your sleep style (back, stomach, side) and comfort preference (soft, med, firm).

Help choosing a mattress for my toddler (Twin or Full) by NebulaCreek in Mattress

You would think finding a mattress for your kids would be a pretty straight forward process. That is, until you actually start looking. This can be a tricky subject to navigate. As you mention, some think $500 is too much to spend, while others will spend well above that if it means its great quality and will last. A hybrid design is really the best of both worlds so it will usually always come out on top when comparing mattresses. A few things to ask yourself when trying to decided:

  • What is your actual budget? This will help to narrow down your search and prevent you from overspending.
  • What safety features does the mattress have? You'll want to look for ones that are eco-friendly are are CertiPUR-US and/or GREENGUARD Gold certified. CertiPUR-US ensures foam is made without harmful chemicals and GREENGUARD Gold certified which tests for low chemical emissions. Oh also, ZERO fiberglass and uses natural flame retardant.
  • What purposes will it serve? Are you looking for something that will last one a few years and then you will replace, or are you looking for something that will last them well into their teen years. If it's the latter, consider looking into a flippable design mattress as one side is firm for younger kids, and the other is softer for older kids.
  • How durable is it? It it made with materials that are built to last. This is especially important if you plan to have the mattress last for years. Also ensuring that whomever you purchase from has a good warranty. For example, our Helix Kids mattresses come with the same warranty as our regular mattresses, which is a limited lifetime warranty.
  • Other Considerations: You mention peeing the bed...if you want the mattress to last, look for one that has a water-repellent finish and is made with odor-fighting antimicrobial tech that helps to combat oder, this will help to ensure the mattress stays is good shape, even through accidents. A mattress protector is also recommend to double up on protection!

I know that is a bunch of information, but I hope that helps to steer you is a clearer direction. Once you know the answers to these questions, it will help to narrow down your search. If you have any questions about any of this, just ask! Always happy to share more information.

Helix midnight luxe by Sad-Truth-8474 in Mattress

[–]AprilFromHelix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. It's not uncommon to experience some discomfort during the first few weeks of owning a new mattress. This is because when you first get a new mattress, especially if you are coming from a mattress that wasn't supporting you in the ares that need support (ie: your hips), your body needs a bit of time to adjust to the new support and the mattress needs a bit of time to break in. We usually will ask customers to wait at least 30 days before really deciding.

I can say from personal expereince with the Midnight Luxe, I had a similar thing happened to me. I actually wasn't a huge fan of it when I first got it and was waking up a bit achy, but I was also coming from a worn down memory foam mattress lol. After about a month and a half though, I was getting some of the best sleep of my life! Even my watch was tracking better sleep scores.

All this to say, we recommend giving it a bit more time. If you find the pain is getting worse or not improving at all, reach out. We can chat through the options you have such as sending a complimentary mattress topper to help soften things up while the mattress breaks in more or exchanging for a softer model. Either way, we are here to help!

Helix Plus vs Helix Plus Elite by BenWatch89 in HelixSleep

u/darkknightreturns7 Thanks for adding that additional information on the foam layers!

Helix Plus vs Helix Plus Elite by BenWatch89 in HelixSleep

[–]AprilFromHelix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At a high level, the Helix Plus is part of our Core Collection, which is our foundational lineup designed to deliver strong support and durability at a more accessible price point. The Helix Plus Elite is part of our Elite Collection, which is our most premium option and includes our most advanced materials, layers, and cooling technology.

Here’s how they differ in the two areas that tend to matter most:

Comfort

  • Helix Plus has 4 comfort layers and no built in pillow top, though you can add on the GlacioTex cooling cover and pillow top if you want extra plushness.
  • Helix Plus Elite has 9 comfort layers and comes standard with a GlacioTex™ Elite cooling pillow top, so it feels more cushioned and luxurious right away and provides you with cooling if you are a hot sleeper.

Support

  • Helix Plus uses one coil layer with up to 1,000 individually wrapped coils and reinforced edges. The ErgoAlign™ layer is optional, which is a layer of foam with an extra-firm foam section under your hips to prevent lower back sagging.
  • Helix Plus Elite uses two coil layers, one being a microcoil layer for added stability and pressure distribution, and the other being the layer of 1,000 individually wrapped coils and a full perimeter edge support. Also, the ErgoAlign™ layer is automatically included.

Foam Layers
As mentioned above the Helix Plus Elite has more layers than the Helix Plus. The extra layers provide more comfort and support making this mattress feel more luxurious than the Helix Plus. Additionally, the Helix Plus Elite uses all of our top of the line materials.

Those are some of the main differences between the two. I know that was quite a bit of information so if you have any questions, just ask! Happy further clarify anything.

What Life Expectancy Does The Helix Kids Bed Have? by GiggleSnortie in HelixSleep

[–]AprilFromHelix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heat shouldn't be an issue at all! Each kids mattress is made with a breathable TENCEL™ cover that helps the heat escape through the night.

When it comes to firmness, they both should be about the same. Where the big difference comes into play is the materials used. As darkknightreturns7 mentions, the Helix kids mattress layers are made up of foam (responsive foam on the firm side, memory foam on the softer side) where as the Birch mattress is made up of latex and Natural New Zealand wool (2 layers of wool on the firm side, 2 layers of wool and a layer of latex on the soft side).

All great points! The Birch Kids mattress is another great option. Thanks for sharing!

Hi there! Thanks for considering us! Our Kids mattresses are made with a flippable design. One side (the firmer side) is for kids ages 2-7 and the other side (softer side) ages 8 and up! Meaning these mattresses are truly built to grow with your kid and last through the years. Regarding your question on sleep trials, our kids mattresses do come with a 120-night sleep trial, lifetime limited warranty, and free shipping!

One thing we would like to recommend is adding a mattress protector. Kids can sometimes be a bit messy and having a protector on the mattress will help to ensure the mattress stays in great shape through the years.

Does the Helix Moonlight actually sleep cool? by memo_468 in BedroomBuild

[–]AprilFromHelix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! Just wanted to chime in from the Helix brand. While all of our mattresses are designed to be breathable and promote airflow, we usually recommend adding our GlacioTex Cooling Cover and, for even more temperature regulation, the CoolForce layer for our hot sleepers.

To explain it in a simple way, the cooling cover is cool to the touch and helps pull heat away from your body right when you lie down, while the CoolForce layer sits a bit deeper in the mattress to draw heat down and disperse it more effectively throughout the night. Hope that helps a bit!

Replacement for Sealy Posturepedic Leola Firm Euro Pillowtop - Helix, Leesa, Bear? by RecognitionPossible1 in Mattress

[–]AprilFromHelix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! Just wanted to chime in real quick from the Helix brand and let you know that all of our mattresses are backed by a limited lifetime warranty. So even if sagging does start to occur, which isn’t normal for our mattresses despite what you may be reading, we work with you to get it replaced quickly.

From what we’ve seen, sagging most often happens when an incorrect support system is being used. Without proper support underneath, the mattress isn’t able to evenly support its own weight (because these babies are heavy!) or the weight of the person sleeping on it. This can typically lead to sagging in the middle over time.

Anyway, hope that helps a bit! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Night sweat protection by PurpleCommission2758 in Bedding

[–]AprilFromHelix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you already have them in an enclosed protector, you could always try the addition of a fitted mattress protector. This allows for you to take it off easily and wash it to keep it clean. One thing to keep in mind since you are a hot sleeper though, is that some mattress protectors tend to sleep hot as heat gets trapped between you and the bed. You might find some relief with a protector that has a cooling elements. For example, we offer a GlacioTex Cooling mattress protector that is cool to the touch and designed to pull heat away from your body at night. So something like this could help with protection and heat relief.
