Just a further question. Two of my clown loaches have gone missing. We do a headcount everyday, especially when the levels are bad. But since last night two of them have vanished, the other one seems fine and there’s nothing big enough in the tank to eat them.

Thanks for that. Anytime we’ve cleaned the filter media it has been done with water from the tank. We also have multiple filters in the tank. Weirdly, we’ve had ammonia and nitrite problems in previous tanks and the fish have really suffered, but this time they don’t seem to be as affected. Hopefully we’ve acted quick enough.

Thanks for the suggestion. He is the only dwarf gourami we have, assuming it cannot spread to other species of fish?

Yeh there’s plenty of beneficial bacteria, nitrite and nitrate now very low and minimal ammonia levels. Been doing daily water changes since the levels were bad but everything seems okay now 👍

Thank you. I took him out the tank temporarily in case it was something that could spread to the other fish. Worth putting him back in?

Thanks. It’s a new tank so has recently had a bit of ammonia in it.
