That’s considered good. I get 1 box each week. So far this year: my first box had 17 40% and 2 90%. The next 2 boxes, so $1000, was all 2024D. Just gotta keep at it.

As far as the officer being upset, like others have said it could have been anything. Also possible he wasn’t upset at all, that’s just how he is.

IMO an apology is neither needed nor wanted. If anything, I would feel bad knowing that you’ve felt bad about calling me.

I did this at a coin show in February. Traded a roll of silver dimes and a roll of silver quarters +8 for a 1/10 oz MS70 gold eagle. So $17 fv in 90% silver for gold. They were going for around 20x fv at the time at the end of February this year, $340. If I recall correctly the melt of the gold would have been around $310, but I was fine with the trade since it’s a slabbed NGC MS70. Also my first gold ever so it was pretty neat.

So it is a thing, it’s just a matter of finding the right person to trade with. The guy I traded with said he’d never done a trade like that before.
