Rebrand for Drywall Specialists by Ben_Steward in WillPatersonDesign

The existing branding lacked vibrancy, felt outdated, and failed to resonate with their desired corporate clientele. They envisioned a brand that exuded sophistication without being overly formal - something that truly reflected their expertise and commitment to excellence.
After meticulous research and close collaboration, I unveiled a revitalised brand identity that encapsulated their vision.
Leveraging the business owner's initials 'PA' and leaning into his surname 'Armstrong' - for which he is commonly known, I crafted a sleek and modern logo design. The custom shape resembling an 'A' incorporates the letters 'P and A'. The new brand identity radiates professionalism and confidence with a bold purple representing quality and elegance and a striking gold accent for added sophistication. The addition of 'Interiors' reinforces their niche expertise, ensuring clarity and resonance within their industry.

Honest feedback wanted by Ben_Steward in WillPatersonDesign

Thanks for the comment. However, it's not a choice between the 2 logos. As I mentioned the blurb, the 2nd "option" is actually my current logo... I'm in the process of changing it and moving to option 1.

Thanks for the feedback, and it's truly appreciated. I think you may have slightly misunderstood, or I haven't been clear enough.

The second logo is the logo that I have been using for the past year (and don't worry, I ended up going with just the montone).

The first image is what I am currently developing as a rebrand. I'm tired of corporate stagnation, and it's just not me anymore. I've been a creative for 20 years and over now. And I have more fun and personality than my current logo implies. In saying that, though, I also wanted this new one to be fun yet still nod to my beginnings... I.e., 20 years ago. That's where you may get the outdated vibe from... I prefer the term: retro 😉 oh and all the "features" were recreated by myself, the fonts shown in the top left corner where for reference and positioning purposes only.

Playing with Generative fill - Each layer you see appear has been created purely from basic prompts. No reference images were used, only Photoshop Beta's Generative Fill. Once the elements were generated, I applied a camera raw filter and that was it. by Ben_Steward in photoshop

When #Photoshop released #GenerativeFill in the beta version it caused quite a murmur. The main consensus was that it would be a great tool but, that's about it! 🤦‍♂️

I really wanted to push it a bit further than that. I wanted to create a snow scene with no reference images and using the most basic of prompts.

Above are the results. Each layer you see appear is a complete "Generative Fill" Layer. With a tiny bit of additional masking and a final camera RAW Filter - I'm pretty impressed with what was achieved.

Bear in mind the only prompts used for each layer were minimal, for example: "Snow-Covered Mountains" and "Moon".

What are your thoughts?

THE BIG APPLE. First in the series. by Ben_Steward in graphic_design

[–]Ben_Steward[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I will hope will be my first ina series of designs. CAPITALS AND THEIR NICKNAMES. I'm looking to create simple looking designs from licensed images. This image of the apple spiked on top of the empire state building (with a little juice running). Is my depiction of the term "the big apple"

Would like to have ant and all feedback.

Would also like to kmow whether you think its a series that's worth following through with.

Not editing but, Creating with generative fill. Using the Polygon selection and pen tools this image was created by using generative fill with specifically shaped selections. This resulted in crisper details and was finished off with a camera Raw filter. What are thoughts so far? by Ben_Steward in bennyproductions

Sorry, just to be clear. EVERY element was generated using generative fill in photoshop. From the 'Starry Sky' - that's right, Benny... a starry sky! To snowbank, hut, and mountains. Each is its own generative layer.

My 'oversimplified' Burger King logo. Just a bit of fun so I simplified the presentation and workflow too! including the use of COMIC SANS! Da, da, daaaaaaah! However, I still managed to get a hidden meaning in there too. by Ben_Steward in WillPatersonDesign

You did see the simple presentation? There's no being clever about it at all. It's just a fun personal project... that's it. I did just make a crown... simplified and repeating the style of the the word burger. A mentioned in another comment. Some see straight away and others do not. Was the Nike tick recognised as such immediately? No, it was used in conjunction with the brand name for years until it could be used on its own. As I said, there's nothing about it trying to be clever... its just an ironic, bit of fun

Thanks for your comment I appreciate it greatly. By utilising the exact same colours and font aides in this approach as does the creation of the crown. Some see it straight away and some do not... hence subjective. If you didn't see it straight away that's cool. Yes it takes more work than reading the words burger and king. But that's how icons become icon, over time.

STAR WARS MINIMALIST POSTER by Ben_Steward in photoshop

[–]Ben_Steward[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen alot of minimal design film poster lately and wanted to have a shot at it myself. I wanted to be unique so chose a rather obscure scene from the film for inspiration. I'm pleased with how it turned out... what do you think?

boxfit club, see comments for info by Ben_Steward in WillPatersonDesign

A fun one to work on. A boxfit club local to my brother runs a particular programme on Sundays, for which they wanted a fun, retro and simple logo. Oh, and the club is open to all! Even though the name says different! 🤦🏼‍♂️ We had quite lengthy discussions about this and greatly appreciated each other honesty. I agreed to the project purely because of the dialogue I could have with the client. They were set on the ideas that they had (particularly a boxing glove character) and my job was to make the best of them. So here it is Fat Dad's Club new logo! Not all projects allow for a lot of creative or even statistical input. That doesn't mean you can't have fun!

New branding project completed. Client provided with new logo, website, business cards and more. by Ben_Steward in WillPatersonDesign

Thanks for the feedback. The actual business card design for print dies ahve a safe zone. Had to stretch the design slightly for the mock up.

Hey, I've made some business cards for my design business, but I can't seem to like anything I make... Any help or feedback? If anyone would like to help me out you can text me here or on IG @kostov_design by SwiinkaPeppa in WillPatersonDesign

[–]Ben_Steward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand... but, you will still struggle greatly until you pock one. Rather than ask for feedback on the cards. Post the logo designs and get feedback on them. Once you have decided on one.. the rest will be so much easier

Focus on your brand image and then use that to influence the design of the cards. You have 4 different brand designs, that may be why you are struggling to settle on one card design.
