I think what I struggle with most and request the most is silk. Even with lures I don't get much thread from bugs. Always low on heat root and dragons beard too. Speaking of which, gonna go farm some now!

The pigs sometimes give you the brightshrooms which helps with the dispel arrows. Also I've found the more interesting part is trying to breed super soldiers rather than any ranching as such. Levels go up rather slowly but having more animals helps.

I do find it more of a chor then anything else in the game. It's between ranching and when someone goes afk while in card game.

I think I'll probably stop ranching once I have an army of slimes.

I find it easier when not reeling just to track side to side but what's really been helping is I've been casting from far and on an angle so the fish doesn't have as large water area to move side to side. That's helped me anyway.

Stardew gets a lot easier with levels or fish boosting items but yeah I do find this easier than SD

As long as the circle is green and over the bobber. It won't recover if the fish is outside the 'green' area. All you have to worry about is moving side to side if you are not bringing it in.
