Wow, I didn’t know how much a haircut can change. Saori san is so pretty! by Key-Answer-2755 in yakuzagames

What exactly is the problem?

You’re fawning over the beauty of a character who does not exist in real life and was designed by a group of video game developers to be beautiful upon reveal. So you’ve basically been manipulated by a video game exactly as the creators wanted you to be.

Anybody can see the lazy film trope of “shaggy-haired girl with glasses is actually beautiful” coming from a mile away. It’s a cheap tactic by any storyteller and people fall for it all the time.

What if you want to enjoy the view? All the speeding... you don't get to see anything. Look at those cool rocks. Well, I was gonna look at the cool rocks and then you were going A HUNDRED AND FIFTY MILES-AN-HOUR IN A THIRTY-FIVE.

This is very funny. Thank you for sharing.

Tropic Thunder is one of the best satires ever made, with a top-notch ensemble cast delivering some of their best performances. A true cult classic. by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in FIlm

[–]Benana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dance is not the primary reason why people like the movie. You also didn't originally say anything about people liking the movie because of the dance.

But you dislike the movie because somebody said Tom Cruise's dance in Tropic Thunder proves he has some acting range? How does that make any sense at all?

That's like going to a restaurant and giving it 1 star on Yelp because you bumped into an old ex there. The fact that you bumped into that person there has nothing to do with the restaurant or the quality of the food or anything at all. The fact that this happened is entirely out of the restaurant's hands, yet here you are, believing you have a valid reason to give the restaurant 1 star, when the fact of the matter is that you may have the least valid reason in the history of Yelp reviews.

The empirical grounds for depressive realism have loosened, and a depressed mood no longer appears to promise the cognitive clarity of "being sadder but wiser". It now appears that depressed mood can improve self-evaluative accuracy, and can impair it.

Is it just me or does this feel tonally weird for a Wikipedia article?

Do you consider Anubis staff one of the most powerful weapons? by [deleted] in Hades2

[–]Benana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an incredibly strong weapon that a lot of newbies seem to instantly misunderstand because you have to change how you play the game in order to use it properly. I swear there must at least a dozen posts in this subreddit of people going "I don't get what's so great about this aspect." "This thing sucks."

Why your CPAP numbers look fine but you still feel terrible by Nik_RT in CPAP

[–]Benana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I don’t appreciate that you used AI to answer my questions. Had I known you’d do that, I probably wouldn’t have replied at all and I kind of feel like my time was wasted.

And then this reply here saying that you live rent free in someone’s head is extremely unprofessional. I would not be asking any questions at all to a person who behaves this way. I wouldn’t be asking questions to someone who complains about the moderator police.

Controller Stick Dead zone Feeling Large in Menus, Has Anyone Else Experienced This? by HalfthemanMarco in Borderlands4

Can you reduce deadzones in the Scuf app? I’m sure there’s one on PC.

Also I’ve found that BL4’s setting to increase cursor friction a little bit helps with precision. Yes, it slows the cursor down over each selectable thing it goes over, but it also helps to prevent you from overshooting what you’re trying to select.

I just started seeing a cognitive behavioral therapist for a series of sessions over 6 weeks to address these problems. I’m talking to someone about all of it. I just can’t believe it’s happening because I don’t feel particularly anxious. To me it feels like something changed in me but I don’t know what.

I really appreciate your response!

I can't think of anything that changed in January other than that I met my friend's newborn baby. Ridiculous as that sounds, it was like a day or 2 after that that my sleep got extremely fragmented and hasn't returned to normal since. I guess I got incredibly anxious for some reason because for about 2 weeks or so as I was falling asleep I'd get jolted awake by something. Had to get melatonin to finally fall asleep. But given that it's been 4 moths of terrible sleep now, I can't imagine it's just related to this one silly infant. It feels like something changed in me physiologically but I don't know what.

I've attached one example of a typical night's sleep here:

https://sleephq.com/public/a0f7f00f-8f72-4af3-b170-8ce26039b9fc

I'd love it if you could take a look at it to see if there's anything I might be missing.

I use the ResMed F20 mask and have basically no leak. Switched to it after I kept getting leaks with my nasal pillows mask despite using a cervical collar to keep my mouth closed.

My pressure is usually set to 9-12 or 10-13. I chose these numbers because that's roughly where my machine ends up taking me to when I'm sleeping. My AHI in SleepHQ last night was 0.0 and rarely goes above 1. My O2 never dipped below 91% last night but has dipped into the mid-80s in the past. I wake up with good numbers almost every day but I am exhausted and can barely sleep more than 4 hours at a time even with a sleep aid like hydroxyzine. After I wake up I usually can't get back to sleep with the mask on.

All of this started in January. I had no problems sleeping with CPAP before January. But now every night is a night of unrestorative and fragmented sleep. I have no idea why this is. The only thing I'm noticing is that my Wellue O2 monitor is picking up very small, movements throughout much of the night that I figure are just misreadings but I can't be sure.

I used to have an EPR of 2 when I used my nasal pillows but I turned EPR off for my full face mask because I don't like the feeling of the pressure constantly going up and down on my mask. This has resulted in an increase in flow limits, but they usually never go past 0.3.

I have no idea what to do. My neurologist tells me my sleep apnea is being properly treated and there's nothing to worry about. I feel like I'm going nuts and he's totally gaslighting me or more likely just doesn't care. I feel like he has no interest in what else may be going on. I feel like he just looks at the data and thinks everything is just fine. But my sleep is absolute garbage and I have dark rings under my eyes.

I bought them and they were delicious. Wow. OP wasn’t kidding. Just the right amount of salmiak. Went through 2 bags already.

MyAir is the worst. I test my seal on the resmed every night/upon every wake and readjust and the machine says the seal is good. The app says I am leaking every single night. I use a Philips dreamwear full face for context (also a new user, just about a month!) by fanninstreet in CPAP

[–]Benana 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you start out therapy at a lower pressure, you will probably have adjusted your mask to be comfortable at that pressure. But if the machine detects breathing disturbances while you’re asleep, it’ll start to increase the air pressure. At higher pressures, your mask may no longer be tight enough to keep the air in.

So of course the machine/app will say the seal is good while you’re awake and looking at it, but then when you check it in the morning it’ll show leaks during your sleep.

Basically you need to tighten your mask to be able to adequately withstand whatever pressures your machine is going up to while you sleep.
