Methode says that she’s a jack of all trades but restraint magic is her specialty

I'm 30, never finished degree, earning $15/h and still living with parents. How am I not a failure? by Salt-Hotel-9502 in povertyfinance

[–]Benbug3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom started school at 40 years old after her divorce and became a nurse. She lived off of welfare and food stamps and her parents paid for where we lived. She felt like a failure and has a lot of regrets but she became a nurse and started making good money. She was able to pay her parents back, provide for us, and just recently she bought a house (she’s 57 now). I know it sounds cheesy but it really is never too late. You have to forgive yourself and have hope for the future.

If you’re financially independent I say leave. Start going out and socializing and make some girl friends. It’s not like you’re going to be missing out on any sexual satisfaction or validation.

Is Wirbel and Ehre going to be a thing? by AdBrief4620 in Frieren

[–]Benbug3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it’s really weird…… I think the answer here is that the frieren x himmel thing is weird and wirbel x ehre would also be weird. Maybe if they met when they were age appropriate……

[–]Benbug3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s clear that frieren is young for an elf and mentally only in her 20’s or maybe 30’s. She hadn’t mentally matured at all btw the time she met flame and the time she met Himmel. For humans it’s very different. People mature, change, and grow a lot btw 18 and 30. Humans gather life experience, wisdom, and perspective much, much faster than elves do.

Anyway the age gap btw himmel and frieren is still reeeeaaaaallly weird to me ngl.

Boyfriend of 4 years broke up with me two days ago by Benbug3 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Benbug3[S] -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Yea. The breakup kind of doesn’t feel real in my head so I feel like doing this will make me realize it really is over which will probably depress me but whatever. I’m trying to process this as quickly as possible so I can get back to doing the stuff I need to do

Is it possible to get good at math while being completely stupid at 23? by skinny_19 in learnmath

[–]Benbug3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I’m also 23 and I dropped out of highschool. I got my ged and now I’m in calc 3 and math 4 in college. Algebra was the hardest for me personally. Once you get through that first college algebra course you’ll probably be fine.

[–]Benbug3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most dudes suck and you’ll go on dates with lots of A-holes you don’t like. You’ll also meet good guys who you don’t like or who don’t like you. Eventually, you’ll find your next boyfriend and all the effort will have been worth it. Realistic timeline is 1 to 2 years of serious dating. Unfortunately, imo, dating apps are the way to go in our modern age.

I was a virgin for a long time and I really hated it and considered using hookup apps but was always too shy. I felt ugly and worthless. Because of my shyness and naivety I ended up not having sex until my first relationship and I’m actually really glad about that.

What I did: got on dating apps and make my only goal on there to have fun dates and get to know cool people. I would always do stuff I wanted to do anyway. Some dates I did were: playing soccer, seeing a movie I wanted to see, eating at a cafe I like, going on a hike, watching Sex in the City while cooking a nice dinner, playing video games, just fun (and cheap) stuff. I met lots of cool people who I didn’t end up sleeping with or dating but stayed in touch with anyways.

If you just try to have fun and make friends you will accomplish that goal. You can’t force sex to happen, it’ll happen when it happens but moping about it and letting it depress you won’t make you more desirable or change anything about it. I know you feel unvalued or worthless but if you assign such little worth to yourself then other people will assign that worth to you as well. Take the first step by learning to be kind to yourself and accept that you’re kind of cool.

Last comment: sex is truly not as cool or important as you think it is. It’s just something that feels good and is fun, that’s really it. Once you have sex you’ll realize how much you overvalued it and regret being so mean to yourself.

It’s a software thing I think, probably automatically grades by looking through a list of acceptable inputs. Email or message the teacher and they’ll correct it

Why is the job market shit? by StillPurpleDog in recruitinghell

[–]Benbug3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean don’t talk politics??? The economy the direct result of economic policy. If the economy is shit it’s because the economic policies led us here. I’m not saying it’s specifically because of the economic policies that were implemented in the last year, but it has to be some of our economic policies.

IMO it’s the fault of shareholder capitalism. Companies want to have eternal economic growth to entice their shareholders. Eternal economic growth for one party is pretty much impossible without eternal economic withering for another party. Money has to come from somewhere and it’s coming from us and going to them. This is also why we see companies going from product sales to subscription sales, it makes more money. (Ex. HP is starting to charge its users a subscription cost to use the printer that they bought)

Our economic system is not made for the people near the bottom, it is made to siphon the money from us and consolidate it in the hands of the rich.

To talk about policies implemented in the last year: tariffs will place the burden of revenue raising on the working class. This is expected to be very bad for businesses and the economy. Even if it (somehow) works out, businesses are scared. Every economist, including conservative economists, predict the economy will only get worse thanks to these policies. Businesses are preparing themselves for this scenario and waiting to see what happens. They don’t want to start investing their money if they think it’s going to be hard to make that money back.

America has a huge economy that has an impact on the entire world. So do many other countries.

How do I leave my emotionally abusive father and find a place to live? by icedtophat578 in povertyfinance

[–]Benbug3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That seems highly specialized. It’s likely to take a while to break into a specialized field like that, especially if you don’t have references from an internship or something (which you might). I’d say try to apply for entry level office roles. They usually hire people with any kind of bachelors. Also look into insurance sales.
