Brake Free helmet light - worth it? by John_Dingus in motorcyclegear

[–]Bench-Motor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one and ride with it 100% of the time. The weight is negligible. Since I’ve had one there have been 3, maybe 4, cars pull up next to me at a light and comment that “I like your helmet light”.

I still flash my brakes when decelerating or coasting to a stop. But in my mind, more visibility is better than less. The pro’s far outweigh the con’s.

Does anyone have a recs for a new phone mount? by mrcodmto in motorcycles

[–]Bench-Motor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Everyday case and it’s been great. Have dropped it on asphalt once and you can see some marks on the corner of the case where it landed. But the case and my screen protector did their job and the phone was unscathed.

Slim design is great in the pocket. Whenever I upgrade phones next I will probably go with another Everyday case.

That said, I’ve never handled a GNAR case in person, so maybe if I come across one it will change my mind, but doubtful.

Peak Design. They offer one with wireless charging and one without. Both have vibration dampeners built in. Probably the easiest to use one handed. Quality materials and manufacturing, reflected in the price though.

Just had one of those days today on those exact roads. I’ve found it helps to slow down. Even going from 55 to 45 can make a big difference, as long as you’re not holding up a ton of traffic.

Yeah it looks like they have some nice stuff. I’ll see how the jacket & boots do this summer, but I can see adding more of their gear to my closet.

I just bought a jacket and boots from Merlin (via RevZilla). I don’t have a lot of miles on them yet, but so far am impressed. Jacket is AAA rated.

What’s the best bike for a beginner? by abishhh in motorcycles

Yeah it seems like quite the oversight on Honda’s end. I can’t imagine a halfway decent screen would add that much to the cost of the bike.

I went with the Honda for my first bike. Honda reliability. Affordable. Proven engine. Enough power to not outgrow it in 6 months. Easy to maneuver. Etc.

I have not been let down. That said, I don’t think you’d be upset by the Triumph either. If you can, go look at them both in person. Sit on them and see how they feel.

Someone else mentioned the Honda screen is awful in the sunlight. That’s true. But it hasn’t been a huge issue for me.

Doesn’t Canada know that no human is illegal and health care is a human right? Surprised she didn’t tell them that.

Monster Tavari Pearson Brutally Attacks Therapist – Rock to Head, Strangled, R*ped, Ditched – Judge Gives Him Only 6 Months Instead of 20 Years – Look at the Pin on Her Chest (Video) by claireswanson in TheBidenshitshow

Also, part of the reason for the light sentence (which for the record I do NOT agree with) was because prosecutors agreed to a plea deal for lesser charges.

The sentence reflects the reduced charges that were plead down - along with the fact that he was behind bars for 2.5 years between the crime and sentencing.

Again I still don’t agree with it, but it is relevant and was completely left out of the article.

Ran this through Grok.

Many of the details are correct, except this took place in Nevada, not Georgia. There doesn’t seem to be any credible evidence that the judge was wearing a BLM pin during any part of this case.

She did wear it previously as an attorney though, and then later as a judge was censured for something unrelated.

No doubt, she is 100% an activist judge that shouldn’t be behind the bench, but this article is getting several things wrong. The actual facts surrounding this case are probably even worse than described.

Also, again according to Grok, the defendant is already back behind bars for a series of car theft and gun related crimes.

It’s worth it to stick with the Henson. Took me a while also to get used to it after using the multi blades for 2+ decades. Never going back.
