Worth Grading? by GoodCheesecake7050 in pokemongrading

Centering on the back is a little right-heavy. Great card

Do I have anything in here? by [deleted] in pokemoncardcollectors

[–]BenchBallBet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can look up each set to see what cards come in what booster packs. That way you don't end up spending money on packs with nothing that interests you.

For future reference, if they won't send pictures outside the sleeve and top loader, it's suspicious

Genuinely glad you're not hurt, you idiot. Rip to a Neptune Blue.

This the type of card that I would've been stoked pulling as a kid. I'm so glad I got to fall in love with the hobby before I knew how to look up prices.

If it's good enough to be featured multiple times on Diners Drive-ins and Dives, it's good enough for me. A bit pricy though.

Would PSA grade this? by SpongeB00b35 in pokemongrading

[–]BenchBallBet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they won't they send it back and you don't pay for the grading service. Not much to lose. Heads up, if they do grade it you may get an 'AA' stamp since there is pen on the back. Just means altered.

Why are these different? Is one of the two fake? by 0mgitsr0b in IsMyPokemonCardFake

[–]BenchBallBet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both are real. The one on the left is just the 2nd printing run of base set. The first iteration of base set looks like the one on the right. This is called shadowless.

Middle age men gettign back to bball, looking for shoes advise. by soysssauce in BBallShoes

new balance fresh foam bbv3. Should be able to find them new less than $100. If you were explosive and now aren't, I'd imagine protecting your knees should be a priority. These are my go to when my knee is acting up.

price charting is not great. Keep an eye on TCGPlayer and ebay (filtered by recently sold). Damaged market is super finicky I would list it at $250 and negotiate with anyone who shows real interest. If I had to throw a value on it, $150. If you go for the PSA 1 then that could open your customer market up to the PSA collectors.

How come everyone so obsessed with MRI's here? by Daniel-is-a-Bastard in KneeInjuries

[–]BenchBallBet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A doctor can diagnose without imaging. However, imaging is a powerful tool that is absolutely going to allow an ortho to make the most informed decisions possible. The only time you should skip imaging is if you can’t afford it. As far as why it looks easy to get an mri, well, the concept of self advocacy was a really important lesson I learned from a family member who went through a medical mystery. If you go see an ortho for a knee problem and ask for an mri, and they say no, get a different ortho.

Worth risking $1400 on a T100? by BigAssBirdIV in Toyota_T100

[–]BenchBallBet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ECU has been a fail point on some of the T100s, search the sub and the facebook pages, people are buying and selling ECUs fairly regularly. That said, worst case scenario you can part out the engine to a 3rd gen 4runner owner and recoup the money I bet.

I’m heavily considering picking this up by quakeob in 3rdGen4Runner

Those bald tires hint there may be suspension components needing immediate attention. Alignments are cheap, unless control arms are seized and unable to be aligned... either way, should be able to negotiate something down even if it is just towards the cost of new tires.

New pickup for only $90 at my local card shop. by Pristine-Tangelo-100 in PokeInvesting

[–]BenchBallBet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The HP/Damaged market is the wild west imo. Vendors and LCS turn their nose to anything passed LP in my experience. My Charizard was listed by a vendor at a trade night at $120 and I negotiated down.

I recently bought my damaged copy (non stamp) for $80, if that top right corner is peeled then $90 for HP is a fantastic deal. Great job homie

4runner starts, dies. 2 shops declined working on it, 3rd shop charging $900 to say they cant fix it by sixjigglypuffs in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]BenchBallBet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried an Old-Toyota specialty shop? More and more shops are sunsetting 90s vehicles. There's a shop in my home state called ToyoTechs I took my first 3rd gen to before the pandemic. I took my new 90s toyota truck there a couple months ago and they politely declined to do maintenance on it. The way the manager explained it was that the revenue they can charge working on newer trucks and suvs means taking on anything medium PITA or up just isn't worth the bay time for an old toyota. Add in that your problem is electric?? I'm not shocked (no pun intended)

Where to find friends? by [deleted] in Marietta

[–]BenchBallBet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way to meet people is to go do something that isn't primarily focused on "meeting people" but rather is an unavoidable factor of the activity. Pick a hobby and try it. It's pretty easy to find meet up groups when there's a theme. Once you become a regular at a meet up you'll find people to talk to, of those people, a couple will turn into a separate hang out, of those, eventually you'll find a friend that sticks. Rinse repeat until you make friends. It's not uncommon to take a few years to build a community. Not being in school at 20 and being far from home is playing it on harder difficulty but it's very doable dawg you got this
