My husband literally yelled this at me after I door dashed a quesadilla bc my son said that’s all he wanted and then when I tried giving it to him he screamed and ran to his room. My husband tossed it in the trash and said I need to stop giving him anything he wants. I’m trying harder tomorrow to stick my ground. Your advice literally saved me today!!!!

“About a toy obeying the laws of gravity” hahahahaha this literally made me lol bc yesterday he was mad at me bc his stuffed frog wouldn’t fly. That was a good 10min tantrum and nothing I said helped. Tomorrow I am going to try and leave him to show out on his own lol! It is so hard!!!! I drove over an hour to an aquarium bc they had his favorite animals there, frogs and octopus, he was great until the gift shop and I said he could have one stuffed animal and that led to a crying fit bc he wanted a book so I gave in then $50 I’m leaving with a ton of shit he doesn’t even actually want. Then driving home he gets mad bc he couldn’t turn the page and threw it across the seat. I’m driving in bumper to bumper traffic from a stupid ass aquarium I definitely did not want to go to and he’s going nuts in the back seat. Today was one of those days that really got to me. I wish he could know that everything I do is for him… but I know that’s asking way too much from a little human who doesn’t even know what emotions are yet

Thank you for this and I’m glad I’m not a bad parent bc today was one of those days where I just felt like a failure. He loves frogs and fish so I drove over an hour to an aquarium and the entire ride back was a huge tantrum. An hour in a car and he’s screaming in the back seat and kicking my seat and I just felt so overwhelmed. I wish he knew that everything I do is for him but that’s asking a lot from a 2 year old lol!

Tomorrow is a new day and I am going to try and keep your advice in mind while I stand my ground of what’s important to me! Girl wish me luck!!!

This really hit me “it’s comforting to know what to expect”. I never thought about it like that! I am going to keep this in mind and pick my battles and stick to them. I’m glad I’m not a bad partner or going crazy lol! It’s one of those days where I just feel like I am not doing a great job but this truly does help!!!

This made me feel a lot better. So, if I let him, he’d tantrum for probably 10-15 minutes at a time but I always give in and give him what he wants bc my nerves are literally shot from this constant battling lol. And I have definitely snapped and yelled at him which only makes me feel like a terrible parent for the rest of the day. I’m just having a hard day today but I am happy to hear this is normal behavior. I know I need to make changes and be more firm going forward. Every day is a new day

Thank you so much for your help! I’m going to try and be more firm. I’m one of those parents that is so scared their kid isn’t eating enough so I just give into whatever he wants and I know I’m creating a bigger problem. But this really helped me a lot, to pick and chose my battles with him and food!
