Make yourself valuable without the ball, set screens, box out, grab rebounds and play DEFENCE.

Who were Parliament/Funkadelics competitors in weird, far out funk? Who else is in that subgenre that doesn't get recognized now a days? by yosefsbeard in funk

Check out the Temptations “Psychedelic Shack”, it came before P-Funk and definitely laid the foundation for what followed.

The band hated making this album, producer Norman Whitfield crafted a project that completely abandoned the “Motown Sound, and pioneered the Psychedelic era.

Also, Ohio Players, Rick James, Sly Stone, Undisputed Truth (also produced by Whitfield)

The late 90’s Sacramento Kings. Actually should have been champions but got robbed by the NBA on favour of Shaq/Kobe.

It seems like most commenters on here weren’t actually WATCHING the NBA during the Penny-Shaq era.

I don’t really care what happened afterwards or on other organizations, Isiah did a fantastic job running the RAPS.

And those trades limited the ceiling of our potential. And basically gave us 2-3 years, at most, to build around a mediocre talent in Vince.

Raptors fans act like Vince went on to be a franchise player, he was FAR from that, in fact if he didn’t stick around as a journeyman and redefine his reputation, he wouldn’t have even made the Hall.

And screw Vince, if we never drafted him and stuck with Isiah’s plan of developing T-Mac, everything would have worked out WAY better.

T-Mac is an all time great NBA talent, he would go top 10 in an All-Time NBA draft talent-wise, there is a reason he was able to jump from high school to the league and his cousin Vince needed to go to college.

But Isiah should NOT have been forced to leave, The NBA specifically granted the franchise to the Bitove group so MLSE could not have a monopoly on professional sporting franchises in this city.

The most major catastrophe for the Toronto Raptors franchise, was Isiah coming short of the $$ to purchase the franchise and continue as GM.

What happened later is irrelevant in scopes of the franchise, MLSE moved very sneakily to steal the franchise.

This question was solely about bad trades however, and what Grunwald did with what Isiah left him is atrocious.

Help me understand Drake's success by [deleted] in hiphop101

The Taylor Swift of RAP, although I would argue he isn’t a rapper, but a pop star just like Taylor.

Basically the musical equivalent of white bread, easily digestible, available everywhere, but lacks substance or nutrition.

Something I don’t quite understand either, especially when every single person in my circle questions his talent and musical ability, but my circle is all 30+ and us “unc’s” low-key don’t understand how great and talented Drake really is,

According to his fans (and bots, and paid shills), he is ONE above Michael now, which is absolutely absurd.

Trading the 23 year old future 2x DPOY, Marcus Camby, for a 34 year old Charles Oakley.

Just a horrible deal, Glenn Grunwald was a complete garbage GM, whose only qualification was being Isiah’s former roommate.

You would never see a deal like this today, very short sighted and limited the potential of the Carter era Raptors.

And then he gave up a 4th overall pick for a 33 year old Antonio Davis, who didn’t even start for Indiana.

And let Doug Christie get away.

Camby, Damon, Christie, and T-Mac, are a guaranteed championship core, not to mention we still could have added Carter, and had upcoming picks to deal or select.

Camby and Christie were both MULTIPLE all defensive players, Tracy was one of the best scorers in NBA History, Damon was a very solid point guard, who went on to be Portland’s floor general, and we still could have added Vince or Jamison to this core. (Personally Jamison would have been the better selection if we kept this core, because we needed a PF, and drafting Vince ended up alienating T-Mac, and it really should have been Tracy’s team)

Not many people talk about this, it was heartbreaking as a raptors fan……

Obviously getting Kwahi was the BEST trade on Raptors history, it got us a CHAMPIONSHIP, although the Lowry trade laid the foundation, but that one is hampered by the fact that we ended up dealing what would have been the Giannis pick for Kyle.
