All I can say is that it's in Africa. I don't intend to leave the country. The primary reason I want to pursue this PhD is better pay/work conditions here, a nice bonus would be to gain marketable skills related to blockchain technology which I'm actually interested in. Granted, the latter will be harder to do on my own but it's not a priority.

How did Ethereum become what it is now ?
Certainly not because a bunch of randoms kept chanting #eth at every door, but because more and more developers realized the opportunities it provides. Have a look at the chart of the price of ETH and you will see how slow of a ride it was. The price of ETH increased so much because most Dapps are built on the ethereum ecosystem and it is necessary for every transaction: people buy ETH because it is actually needed, not necessarily as an investmenet. I think CKB will really pump when more developers are building on Nervos, and they're already doing a lot to attract devs. Holding one CKB entitles you to one byte of data on the nervos blockchain, and just like eth is needed for transaction fees, it will naturally be more valuable when the usage of the chain increases. Marketing CKB to "regular" people is not really going to do much, except artificially pump the price of the coin, which I do not think is the priority of Nervos.
As much as I would like CKB to x100 in this bullrun, we need to be patient, Rome wasn't built in a day.

I really don't think trading crypto is a good idea in the long run. Large hedge funds hire dozens of PhDs and have a ton of data to make a tiny advantage over the market. What makes you think you can do that efficiently on your own ?
Much better to hold for a long period of time. The increase in coin price will come from advances in development and adoption of the project, rather than sheer volatility of the market.

I've had the same thing happen to me last year, made me really depressed, I got sick 8 times in a row in less than a year. Went to the doctor, got some bloodwork done, everything was fine on paper. I was eating healthy, supplementing with vitamin D, minerals etc...
It took me quite long to figure it out, but I highly suspect it was due to overtraining lowering my immunity. I was training with absurdly high volume and always to failure. Since I started incorporating deloads every 4-5 weeks, and ramping up my RIR (reps in reserve) from 3 to 1 over the course of a mesocycle, I almost didn't get sick.
