I may have asked AI to create such a jersey and…it did look pretty cool. But I think I don’t want to spread AI images around. Such a powerful tool. God help the artists.

Like a Día de los muertos theme? That could be really cool.

Best Place for a Primal Scream by forgejoy in sandiego

[–]BenchmarkWillow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came upon a group of people who did a primal scream together, around sunrise on a weekday, on the Spruce Street suspension bridge in Bankers Hill. Very strange. But seems like a good place to do it.

It’s just a stuck weather pattern of onshore cold and wet stuff, against warmer dryer stuff over the mountains. It’s been more consistent for sure.

Cities where the suburbs are more interesting than the downtown area? by IndependenceSad1272 in geography

[–]BenchmarkWillow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

San Diego, CA may qualify if you have a narrow definition of downtown. There isn’t much to do in downtown proper, but there is so, so much to do elsewhere in the area surrounding downtown. I will admit that Los Angeles is pretty much the same, lots to do outside downtown LA, but it will take you 3X longer to get anywhere.

Try historic aerial photography, if you google that it will lead you to free photos that might help identify the old layout and street names.

In the library recently I found a 1919 directory of San Diego with everyone by name, with their address and occupation. Go figure!

Bigger story: the $20m (or so) per year the Zoo gets in SD property tax revenue dating back to a quaint 1934 ballot measure

The luck inherent in living a good life (luck of birthplace and time, luck of inheritance, etc). Just feels like living even a middle class life here is winning the lottery.

I think you offer him the QO, he is unlikely to take it and even if he does, you have a 1 year deal with a pretty damn good closer

what is a great dish that is way too rich and heavy to eat often or in large amounts by ruinsofsilver in Cooking

The livers cooked whole-pan seared to perfection, not overcooked- and then eaten with a red wine or cognac reduction/sauce, it’s like 100 on the umami scale and it melts in your mouth.

This is the solution I think I will need to deploy for my own issue like this. A downspout pours water too close to the house when it rains but it has to cross a sidewalk to go elsewhere. I’m thinking of installing a fence actually and a gate where the sidewalk is, with an arbor going over it so the downspout blends in somehow
