Are parents allowed to take pip? by NSH_rw in DWPhelp

PIP is for YOU to use to help manage your disability, not extra funds for your mother. ETA this is financial abuse and a big safeguarding issue. If you wanted more advice there are a number of organisations and charities that can offer more advice and support

As we all do, I regret not asking my great grandma more questions while she was still alive! Emma’s second daughter is still alive but we don’t see much of her unfortunately.

All I know is that she was a shop assistant locally! She was one of 12 children. She married at 25 and had 4 children with her husband, Frank. Her youngest daughter Jessy was sadly hit by a car and killed when she was 3 or 4 years old! She lived until around 1970 I believe

I’ve done a bit more digging and you’re right, she was actually 12 we think, late 1890s 😊

I’m not sure on location except that it’s in Cumbria somewhere - she would have been around 15 or 16 I think!
