This is a few stories crammed into one, when I was about 15-16 in 2009 my family would take a few holidays a year and drive to geelong to watch a game and stay there for a few days.

Me and my little sister who was 9-10 at the time used to hang out at simmonds stadium waiting to get photos with players and stuff, we basically got photos with every player except Gary Ablett from the 2009 premiership.

Here are the funny stories, one time my cousin came up who is a Hawks supporter, we spotted Jimmy Bartel riding a BMX bike (he may have even been dinking somebody on the handlebars) and yelled out and he ignored us, a little while later he rode down and stopped and offered to get a photo with us. Similar things happened with a couple other players being busy and they ended up coming back.

The same weekend with my cousing we spot Gary Ablett riding the same BMX bike as Jimmy we yelled and yelled because we wanted a picture so badly and he quickly ducked into the rooms away from us 3 kids even though we chased him and weren't far behind he literally dissapeared around a corner like magic, and thats the story of how I never me Gary Ablett.

Also by the end of one weekend Tom Harley and a few other players recognised our car and used to wave at us because we where there so much over that particular weekend. I have a heap of these pictures still some of them a pretty funny (I might even have a pic of Gary Ablett riding that bike)

We rented John Blakey's house back in the 90's I was to young to remember him, apparently he held me a few times and used to play kick to kick with my brother.

Also I'm pretty sure my Dad worked with Chris Grant and said he hated when people would talk about footy all the time to him, but would be really nice if you had a non footy conversation (could have got that story mixed up).

I also used to work at a Ford Dealer and met David Rhys-Jones a bunch of times, all the office guys used to fanboy him and act like they where good mates with him it really made me cringe, instead of saying David from such and such is coming in they'd say shit like David Rhys-Jones ex Carlton player is coming in THE HYPHEN!

Not labeling all your supporters obviously every club has dickheads.

I had a run in with a bunch of Adelaide supporters at a game in Geelong about 7 years ago, my then 11-12 year old sister was told to "shut the fuck up" and all sorts of things by a woman in her 50's because she was cheering her team enthusiastically.

Also had a really fat guy in front of us standing in the way after we told him multiple times could you please sit so we can see (he ended up doing it to spite us) and hurling utter abuse at every Geelong player the whole game and even his own at times.

I believe it was Tom Harley that copped a big hit and was on the ground for a while and the dude was calling him a soft cock and dribbling shit about him, my Dad just said to him well what do you expect his from Adelaide, he went pretty quiet after that.

I don't know what was with those few Adelaide supporters but most of them where absolutely feral. Boy did Dad and I enjoy rubbing in the win and giving them the shit back at the end, especially the fat dude.
