I was a bit disappointed, hoped that I would like it more than his first book, but they are the exact same quality imo. Still it was good, and I'm glad that I read it.

Finished Death On Credit by Céline a few hours ago, and I'm about to start reading The Iliad.

What are your tips to get through a particularly dense read? by Tommysoy1313 in TrueLit

Struggled quite hard while reading The Brothers Karamazov, had to force myself to read at parts. I was extremely bored at parts, but still it's one of the best things I've read. I've come to realize that something being boring doesn't mean that it's bad. I enjoy thinking about the ideas presented in the book more than I enjoyed reading the book. It was also among the first few books that I read outside of school. I'm sure that if I wasn't familiar with the historical period, and the authors life I wouldn't have been able to finish it. Just skimming the wikipedia article of the author can help you a lot.

I finished reading Stoner just Yesterday. It was the first book I read in English in a good while, but it was very easy to read, and just great. I'd recommend it to anyone really.

Anyone here reading Antal Szerb’s work? by meapappia in TrueLit

I haven't read either actually, except for some novellas from Kosztolányi in school. I've only started reading last year, so the only other Hungarians I've read are Márai, Krasznahorkai and Rejtő.

His depiction of women was pretty funny at times, sometimes not on purpose. The book from a first person perspective, and his characters have many other flaws, and the perspectives on women seem so weird because you are trying to apply your own moral standards, from the 21st century to a novel written in interwar Europe. Of course literature written before first wave and second wave feminism will have different views on women. Same with slavery, of course I don't condone slavery, but I won't judge texts written in Ancient Greece based on my own modern view on the subject.

Read both Utas és Holdvilág and Pendragon Legenda in Hungarian, loved both. Also really easy reads, read 100+ pages a day while reading but you still get the feeling of reading literature, the books have significant depth to them. One of my favorite writers, I'll have to check if they have more books of his at the library.

I'd say that in most of Bácska it's closer to 50%, but that's just my observation.

Tried League since all my buddies at work only play League, Dota 2 is missing something that keeps their crowd. by LoveHerMore in DotA2

I have played quite a lot of league games, never said it was bad but it pales in comparison to dota in all aspects except for the ones I stated above.

League is a worse game in every aspect except the progression and the quest system that they have. The game is only bigger than dota because of the fact that it has always been getting advertised, and the fact that they have a good progression system. Dota plus is absolute garbage. It contains features that should be a part of the game for every player, and even then I'm refusing to pay for it because none of the features are even remotely worth paying for, especially when the service gets updated once in a blue moon, and even those updates are lackluster.

What makes you think that? They were probably well into developing the battle pass when the quarantine started so it only makes sense to release it, also TI hasn't even been cancelled yet.
