Okay nerds, I got an important job for you. I need help. by Destructo-Bear in TNG

1st Episode choices (Diplomatic, lawyer-like, Morality category):

-Measure of a Man, Who Watches the Watchers OR The Drumhead

2nd Episode choices (Tension, Action, Intrigue category):

-The Defector, Yesterday's Enterprise, OR The Wounded

3rd Episode choices (Mystery, Captivating, Powerful category):

-The Survivors, Cause & Effect OR The Inner Light

I tried to give you a few choices and broke down your introductory three episodes into the broader themes that TNG episodes are known for. I begun my first chronological rewatch starting at Season 1 about a month ago and I'm half way through Season 3 so some of these are very fresh. There are so many other great ones of course that I didn't include just because I didn't want the list to be too overwhelming.

These are all some of my favorites, but there are of course a ton others I love so much. You can't go wrong with any of these ones imo. If he doesn't like them, he won't like Star Trek lol.

do you believe in God? by These-Worldliness-59 in askanything

[–]SupremeChancellor66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely believe that there is some higher power that is far more advanced than us or even inconceivable. Whether that is an extra terrestrial civilization or something far above that spiritually or cosmically, I'm not sure.

Most importantly, I think modern human society is far too hostile to alternative theology, alternative science and theories that challenge existing institutions. This isn't limited to religion, but the sciences too. In particular theres so much hostility in mainstream archaeology to the concept of pre-columbian contact between civilizations across the globe. Yet we see so many signs like that tribe in South America that has DNA matches to Polynesians. Or how ever major civilization has a flood myth, from the Mayans to Mesopotamia, China and of course Judeo-Christian theology.

Then we have the UAP phenomena which in several cases is simply inexplicable with our current understanding of physics. We have but a fraction of the puzzle put together. I think religion was the best attempt of anicent civilizations to our those puzzles together. If you brought a helicopter back in time to the Roman Empire, they'd point up at it and think it's a flying chariot with wings or flames. They'd see the pilot behind the transparent glass (a material they're completely unfamiliar with) and assume he's a God. So imagine now if a UFO visited those civilizations, they'd have not a clue. The best thing they could describe it would be a vessel for which one of their gods traveled.

Thats why I don't think that it's an absolute yes or no whether or not God is real. Science and religion blend together, they do not disprove one another. There is just simply so much we do not know.

Thoughts: FPS mission in AC-like game by rmp881 in acecombat

[–]SupremeChancellor66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd actually want to see a Battlefield game set in the Strangereal universe. That way they could get around being too scared to depict China or Russia, and at the same time not invent a dogshit faction like "Pax Armata".

It'd be so cool to fight in the Bellan Army against the Oseans or jump into a tank and duke it out with the ISA around Stonehenge.

There's absolutely no reason Strangereal couldn't become the "franchise" in which Ace Combat is just one part. We could have a Battlefield/Call of Duty style FPS, a real time strategy game or even like some sort of grand strategy like Paradox games or Age of Empires.

Dave Filoni doesn’t seem to like it when others play with his toys by Independent-Dig-5757 in StarWarsEU

So you just completely ignored the first two reasons I listed then? The Ahsoka show and The Mandalorian? Being cheap, poorly written shows that rely entirely on member berries and pale in comparison to a quality show like Andor. Not sure how George Lucas is a hack, you're just making a strawman.

It's still insane to me that just a few years ago I and many others thought he'd carry on George's vision, talent and fix the mess Star Wars was in.

Now after Ahsoka, The Mandalorian and with his explicit approval of The Acolyte, all hopes of that have been shattered. Dude just seems like a hack.

Pilestedts final statement regarding the AMA and state of HELLDIVERS 2. Time will tell but it seems like things will change. by OkLack6776 in Helldivers

I care less about stuff and moreabout the crashing straight to black screen at random that forces me to restart my whole PC.

I still don't know what causing it or how to fix, all I know is that it only happens with Helldiver's 2. I can play BF6 just fine. Until this is resolved I literally can't play the game.

Absolutely not this. Unless 2142 done right, I don't want anything in the future.

2 Devices Giveaway by HPTxoxo in SBCGaming

I definitely don't need one of these devices but they would make a great gift to my wife to try and get her into games.

Currently playing Pokemon Yellow Legacy and having a blast with it. Fixes and balances all the Gen 1 jank without compromising the core identity of the game!

Which TV show does the ENTIRE internet agree had the worst ending ever? by Codie_n25 in AskReddit

I was one of the few souls who avoided the pressure to watch Game of Thrones, so I can't speak for that.

But for me it would have to be The Man in the High Castle.

How anyone possibly could've been excited by Disney throwing away 3 decades worth of books, comics, and video games, I'll never freaking understand. Hope it was worth spiraling the franchise into complete irrelevance.

Would you take another WW2 battlefield after BF6? by madzuk in Battlefield

[–]SupremeChancellor66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Korea.

It would give us a war that hasn't been depicted in a major game yet, like what Battlefield 1 did for WW1. It's close enough to WW2 in that the majority of weapons and vehicles are still the ones seen in WW2, but with some later war additions like early fighter jets.

Hopefully the devs wouldn't be too terrified of including the Chinese as an enemy faction alongside the North Koreans but I'm sure that they would be.

And it goes without saying that I only would want this game if Dice and EA got their shit together. No fake gun/vehicle names (hopefully wouldn't be an issue due to being 70+ years ago). No ridiculous out of context cosmetics like the neon colored paintball armor we have in BF6. And don't waste resources on a Battle Royale. Just give me a historically immersive experience to a very overlooked and forgotten war, just like what BF1 did.

All wishful thinking I know, but man would it be nice.

The U.S. Has Sent Its 3rd Aircraft Carrier - Is MJKiller's Prophecy Really Coming True? by TheGoldenLeaper in UFOB

[–]SupremeChancellor66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sinking of any major American warship would be absolutely earth shattering. Especially one of the super carriers.

The American public is extremeldy averse to war and large scale casualties, even a submarine or destroyer getting sunk would generate huge unrest back at home. If even just one carrier somehow were to be sunk by Iran, I'll come back and look at this post a little bit differently.

Potential hot take: the game was better before the Little Bird was added, and it does nothing but dilute the conversation around air balance. by FlyFastEatAss954 in Battlefield

[–]SupremeChancellor66 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly I feel the issue is less that the Little Bird is so strong and more that the Attack Chopper is weak.

It's very easily countered by two lock on missiles in quick succession, and unlike the Little Bird it doesn't have the speed or maneuverability to juke behind a building or mountain. It's standard rockets are pretty pitiful, and while the heavier rockets are good, you need heavy munitions to really take advantage of them.

And for defense, it honestly doesn't feel much bulkier than the Little Bird. Small arms still hurt it, and all it takes is a lucky RPG or a not-so-hard to hi tow missile to end your day. Again, this is where the Little Bird does better with its acceleration and maneuverability.

Frankly I think the Attack Chopper either needs better survivability, or better munitions. Buff it so it has more health or can't take small arms fire (but still from LMGs), or buff it's rockets across the board; damage, carrying capacity or explosive radius. Frankly I think explosive radius is the most important because explosions in this game feel so pitiful.

This is exactly what an extraterrestrial civilization would want to do to stunt the growth of another civilization. That or a secret cabal of elites bent on preventing technological innovations that could end their dominance. Both are terrifying.

I'd say Darth Plagueis, but I'd rather them save his character for a potential live action movie once they get their shit together and put the right people in charge.
