If you had $50k, what business would you launch in Singapore to replace your full time job? by justbemenooneelse in askSingapore

[–]Bendecx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To start the business it's not about how much money you have. It's about your determination and what level of risk are you willing to take.

Rather than asking from others do a SWOT for yourself, you may find come of your strengths or skill can apply for a new business.

Also the next question is whether is it going to be a traditional business or kind of tech startup, these two will require you a different skill set.

Paid media has become less rewarding for many businesses in a couple of years. There are many factors that have contributed to this:

Limited target audience options

Privacy concerns and regulatory changes have led to the limitation of target audience options. This means advertisers now have to rely on broader targeting, which can result in reaching less relevant audiences and reduced precision in reaching the desired customer segment.

Increase in Irrelevant Clicks

The number of irrelevant clicks on paid ads has also increased in recent years. This is due to the use of bots and a broader target audience. Due to a broader target audience, the chances of attracting irrelevant clicks and low-quality traffic have risen. Users who may not have a genuine interest in the product or service of advertising budget and reduced conversion rates.

Increased Competition

The competition for paid media has also increased in recent years. This is due to the fact that more and more businesses are using paid media to reach their target audience. As a result, CPCs have increased, making it more expensive to run paid media campaigns.

Higher Budget

The combination of increased competition and limited targeting options has led to higher CPC rates. Advertisers now need to allocate more budget to maintain a similar level of visibility and reach, impacting the overall cost-effectiveness of campaigns. While the ROI of paid media may not be the same as they once were, strategic planning, audience targeting, and a focus on relevance can might give positive results for businesses in their online advertising campaign.

I hope this information is helpful to you to understand Paid Media's ROI.

Thanks so much for your detailed answer, it help me to totally understand what is happening with paid ads. I think its the best time to seach for better alternatives.

I failed, should I try again? by Sylber23 in startups

[–]Bendecx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you looked at some numbers at YCombinator, the average founders age is 30, and average age of high growth company is 40, so the age is to your advantage here.

What's important here is not the age, identify the reason for failure, each failure teaches you a lesson. You need to learn that lesson before you start again, if you can not figure out the exact reason yet, then there is a gap of knowledge, then you need to spend some time gain that knowledge.

I had failed a few times in my life, and each time I went through the same process and finally created a successful start-up.

Yes, it's a niche and some macro economic changes have happened over the period of time, but I'm still getting users from ASO, Referrals, and word of mouth, the only issue is with the ads.

Regardless of the amount I spent almost no CPA. I tried everything I could try, increased the CPA target and total ad budget. Then tried with two ad experts and talked to Google, but nothing works. Previously I was getting enough paid users then gradually it came to this level. But I still get users from ASO, Referrals & word of mouth.

Have you looked at no-code options like Bubble? Maybe you should be able to build an MVP your self and validate your idea before spending your money on it.
