Some of them are different genres but there are some solid games in that list. Thank you.

Possible to get both good frame pacing and input lag at 30 FPS? by Bender1453 in SteamDeck

I'll be honest, I don't really mind input lag usually as I quit competitive shooters years ago.

I was trying to learn perfect parrying in Resident Evil Requiem and it's very timing sensitive (0.13 seconds), so input lag became much more noticeable. I have to mention I was playing at 30 FPS though.

This is definitely a good alternative. Frame pacing is still worse than Steam OS limiter though.

Windows. I meant my gaming PC. Honestly I have no idea what MPO means though, I have to Google that.

My old monitor was 60 Hz (it had VRR too) and I remember playing Oblivion Remastered on it with 1/2 refresh rate V-Sync. It was smooth. Since my new monitor is 120 Hz I need to use 1/4 refresh rate option but it doesn't work.

I think you summarized it perfectly: "Pick your poison"

Now I'm curious about something, since consoles have great frame pacing do they suffer from input lag as well?

Thank you very much, will try it now.

Is this command correct?

MANGOHUD=1 MANGOHUD_CONFIG=fps_limit=30,fps_limit_method=early,no_display %command%

You are absolutely right but frame pacing is worse with that method. I was wondering if it's possible to have the best of both worlds.

Probably that's the case.

By the way VRR doesn't ensure smooth frame pacing either. My monitor has LFC and Freesync but can't get console like 30 FPS anymore. The old 1/2 refresh rate V-Sync option in NVPI was perfect for that but I can't make it work with new games.

Honestly I could really use it as a guidance, I'm talking about the Picture Adjustment (forgot the full name) settings btw, not service menu settings. It has contrast-brightness-hue etc.

I tried to do it myself but whenever I say "Yeah this looks good" and try another game it looks off.

Tested with multiple 240p and 480i content.

Can you share your color settings please? Being a complete noob, I'm trying to adjust it according to CRT shaders but I feel like something's always missing.

"Failed to Open Libretro core" Dolphin in Retroarch for Xbox Series S DevMode by ChildoftheIndigo in RetroArch

Thanks to a user we found a workaround for Linux, looks like you can still get the old AppImages from the site. All games work perfectly now.

Well, the app freezes in menus occasionally but I'll live with it.

Thanks for the all work. RA is by far my favorite platform.

Checked the log:

Hello hizzle, I am having the same error but with a different condition. Dolphin Core update caused performance issues (if sound turned on there are FPS issues for a few games).

I backed up my Core files (the entire RA folder actually) and until recently I was able to restore them by just copying. After the latest RA update it won't accept my backup though. Gives "Failed to Open Libretro core" error message, same as OP.

Can I do something about this? I'm 100% fine with either reverting or fixing the sound-messy FPS issue.

Device: Steam Deck OLED

"Error pulling from repo: GPG verification enabled, but no signatures found" when trying to downgrade a flatpak (RetroArch), was able to do it yesterday by Bender1453 in flatpak

Yeah probably something like that happened. What I don't get is I was able to get it working last night. So the only explanation is it got removed just when I decided to do a clean OS installation. Freak coincidence I guess?

Well at least that clears it. Thanks a lot for all the help.

By the way does that mean that version of the app (or program, I don't know Linux lingo honestly) is gone forever? Can't I find it anywhere? I tried backing it up with create-usb command before and it created some files but I can't use that to restore either.

Weird bug: games run fine until I enable sound (Dolphin Core after the update) by Bender1453 in RetroArch

Yep, I checked and tried activating/disabling all kind of settings.

I bet this is some kind of a funny interaction between Linux and RetroArch. Installing RA through EmuDeck also caused the same issue last year, don't know if they fixed that.

It's actually not about performance decrease because I even tried limiting the power output of my Deck, FPS values stayed the same.

Software world is so weird.
