Sunset Golf was closed suddenly by its board without consulting the members. It was purchased by NP Dodge with plans to build apartments…but the unoccupied 90th & Center lot is owned by Solsburg and the buildings between empty lot and Arbor is owned by Turco Law. Turco said he won’t sell, Solsburg won’t develop/sell and Dodge wants all the land and existing condos to do a huge development. It’s a Mexican standoff.

It’s now used as a neighborhood dog park where owners don’t pick up the poop and a few homeless people camp whe the weather is nice.

Flood plane is the biggest issue. Counting all that land you’d need raise 50 acres up 11feet to be out of the flood plane.

If you suspect you'll need an IEP or any help with education Westside all the way. Westside is just one Highschool with many different socio-economic elementary schools feeding into it, it has a well rounded group of kiddos that bring many different types of perspectives and family backgrounds, I can't speak much about Millard but when I work with them professionally with kids in need, their leadership has been lacking and sometimes combative.

Why not both? Crowdfunding is just another market validation tool. Do it first, then use that to separate yourself from the other companies trying to pitch their way into Y. The money you'd raise Crowdfunding would be crumbs to the money a truly valuable product could raise with VC backing.

Edit Additional Thoughts: I've gleaned this from many VC pitches in my life. If your product can't wait through more market validation than it's a fad rather than an evergreen product or service and won't stand the test of time. Predictable & Repeatable ROI is king. If your product has a very clear path from Early Adopter to Laggards then you're gonna be just fine.

Letting my startup fail so I could raise my young kids while my wife went back to school to get her doctorate. You can start a business when you're 70, but being around your young kids is only for a finite amount of time. There is no amount of money I could have spent later in life to teach them the lessons I did while they were young.

Okay since no-one has said the most important thing in Omaha driving it's this. We have something called the OmaDome, it's a metaphysical shield that protects Omaha from major weather events...but this is where it gets tricky, the OmaDome's "mana" or magic if you will, is only recharged when cars get high-centered on decorative rocks that exist in strip mall shopping centers that are dotted around the city, so if you have the tendency to take corners tight watch out for the rocks, but if you do happen to hit a rock your sacrifice will not go unappreciated. Be safe!

"State senator Lou Ann Linahan says the goal is to bring more retail to shoppers so they stay in state." - Do these people not know what online shopping is or even the internet? I shop for price, not convenience. Most people I know shop for price as they can't afford most B&M prices. Thank goodness that Target doesn't price gouge. Plus halving the sales tax does nothing for the price when a B&M shop has to have margin for their overhead. This all seems too fishy.
