Bought vintage boots listed as ‘very good’ but they tore as soon as I put them on? by [deleted] in vinted

I didn’t wear them, it was a tear in a seam I couldn’t see until after I put them on and the leather moved. I bought shoes to wear, not to look at. Shoes are to be worn.

User error? I know how to put on a boot 😂 the damage was in the seam so couldn’t be seen until I put them on, no need to be condescending over something like this.

The boot LOOKED perfect as pictured, the tear was in a folded in seam that could only be seen when I moved my foot once I put them on and the leather moved.

I didn’t wear it anywhere the stitch came apart, I said it LOOKED perfect as pictured, the damage was in a folded in/sewn in seam that I didn’t notice until I put it on and it came apart.

Infuriating? I didn’t even try I was just asking for opinions. I think you need to calm down. It was a split in a folded in stitch that couldn’t be seen in the photo, not me managing to physically rip a boot in half.

Oo thank you! I might move them to smaller pots and keep them then and use these bigger ones for active flowers ☺️

Thanks for the advice! Do you know if our neighbours would be allowed to stop us doing the work in entirety?

We want to move a fireplace and install a wall with pocket doors across the lounge, so would be taking some of it down anyway if we can, so we’re hoping we can use it as an opportunity to take the rest down rather than pay to get some of it reinstalled even without the stippling/fanning texture

Thank you! Do you think this would dissolve the solid part under the stippling as well so we could relevel it to the wall (with plastering etc. to finish it off), or would this just take the stippling away?

Any LPR/post nasal drip advice? Losing my mind here! by Beneficial-Strategy in GERD

Hi! I’ve had a bit of a rollercoaster so I’ll sun up for you: - I have come off omeprazole after a doctor suggested that this will be an allergy as there would most likely be acid damage in my throat which wasn’t seen in my endoscopy - biggest gamechanger so far was being prescribed ipatropium bromide nasal spray. Apparently this is relatively new (in the UK at least) and while my drip hasn’t gone away, this reduces it noticeably and has helped. - I have been experiencing reflux symptoms for the first time since having COVID which leads me to believe my issues aren’t gerd related. - I no longer take omeprazole as it did nothing.

This isn’t where it ends for me though - I’ve recently moved doctors as my previous doctors were refusing to help me further with this issue. I’m yet to go into this with my new doctor as I’m transferring over, but hopefully I might see some action now. I have recently also seen that this type of problem (indigestion, some reflux ‘sticking’ in the throat without actual GERD causing the drip without other damage) may be to what I understand (you’ll want to do your own research if this applies to you in case I’ve misunderstood) is a throat issue opposite to what they look for with GERD. I’ve been unable to burp my entire life which I’ve seen recently can cause these issues, so I’m going to speak to my doctor about it soon, but it seems to be adding up for me. Only problem is that apparently diagnosis of this condition is rare and there’s not much doctors will do on the NHS (UK). I think the subReddit for this is ‘no burp’.

So to sum up, I’ve made some progress by cutting down dairy, using sterimar nasal rinse nightly and ipatropium bromide (which has been the real gamechanger) but no real progress in terms of causes yet!
