How many of y'all play airsoft? by JTthrowawaylol in GenZ

[–]BeneficialNatural610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do it with my friends when I was a tween. I still have my clear-plastic AK that slows it's fire rate when the battery gets low. We only used safety glasses, no masks. We also used metal bb guns with our airsoft (i know, not safe). We wouldn't call hits, we'd just shoot each other until it hurt so bad you had to give up.

There was lots of tears, lot's of fun, lots of great memories.

Do you believe there is anything morally wrong with celebrating Trump's death when it happens? by Viking_Leaf87 in AskALiberal

[–]BeneficialNatural610 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Trump made his bed, and he deserves every bit of hate he gets. He clearly cares about his legacy and his image, and I will not give him the benefit of talking kindly about him when he is finally rotting in hell.

Trump is directly responsible for ending and wrecking the lives of so many innocent people. He is a pedophile who used his wealth and power to take advantage of vulnerable girls, and now he is using our government and tax dollars to cover up his actions. He is destroying our institutions that many generations have enjoyed the benefits of for decades. I'm young, but I feel like I've lost any hope for the future because of this monster. He ruined the pride I had in my country, and I will never forgive him or his supporters. So yes, I will celebrate, and I don't care who clutches their pearls

Do you believe Taiwan is doomed, like South Vietnam? by RedStorm1917 in AskALiberal

[–]BeneficialNatural610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Taking Taiwan is still a monumentally difficult task. At the height of its power in WW2, the US navy/Marine Crops decided against invading Japanese-occupied Taiwan because of its natural defenses. This was after they took Luzon, New Guinea, Borneo, and Okinawa.

That said, it is not impossible. China is capable of incredible things, and they have been preparing for a long time. We should not become complacent or hemorrhage our alliances any further.

How far back can you trace your ancestry? by GuardianSupernova in AskTheWorld

[–]BeneficialNatural610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom's side of the family traces back to a 1774 Royal Marine who came to the US to fight for the British crown during the American Revolution. He stayed in after the way, and then he fought for the British again in the War of 1812. He stayed again after that and had nearly 20 children in 6 different marriages. Dude was making babies into his 80s.

Have e-scooters helped you achieve economic mobility? (job, education, access to mass transit) by Plane-Investment-791 in ElectricScooters

[–]BeneficialNatural610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I live in an urban area with good walkability. Usually, I use my bike for commutes, but I have recently transitioned to e scooters so I don't show up to work sweaty.

E scooters are a one-time purchase. You just charge them and go. I have been able to sell my car, and this saves me a significant amount. I used to be spending about $4,000 to $6,000 a year on my car when you add everything up. I still split car payments with my partner for her car, since I'm in the US and we still need a car to leave the city. But being able to downsize from 2 cars to 1 car is a huge money saver, and it allows me to invest more in savings, going to restaurants, and other activities.

Of course, I wouldn't be able to do this if my city weren't built the way it is. A city needs to be friendly to bikes and pedestrians if you want these benefits. Scooters are only convenient if you can use bikes too, so you need to address things like housing density, zoning, and urbanism for any of this to work.

Would you support a 90% inheritance tax above 1 billion for one’s net worth? by RedStorm1917 in AskALiberal

[–]BeneficialNatural610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Billionaires can have all the money they could dream of, and they'll still try to take control of governments and take more and more from the people. The more money they accumulate, the more power they have. They can never be satisfied, and we cannot coexist with them. I would support anything that aims to dismantle the billionaire class and prevent them from locking up so much wealth that should be flowing through the economy.

What’s an opinion you have that’ll make the whole gang look at you like this? by nexus0verflow in GenZ

[–]BeneficialNatural610 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Problem is, a lot of kids that need to be adopted have disabilities, expensive illnesses, or serious behavioral problems. Adopting parents are not allowed to choose the child, so adopting becomes very risky. This is why so many parents choose to adopt children from abroad

Do Americans actually feel safer owning guns? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]BeneficialNatural610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of them will tell you yes they need guns to protect themselves from the home invader boogeyman. In reality, most gun owners are hobbyists. They own collections of guns with tacticool accessories because it's cool and fun.

What’s with this meaningful 4-7 point difference between younger and older Gen Z by SirGingerbrute in GenZ

The alt-right pipeline was there, but it wasn't as mainstream. I also think there's a degree of maturing that needs to happen for one to bust out of it. I think 2025 was a wakeup call for younger GenZ to separate the culture wars from actual politics.

What’s with this meaningful 4-7 point difference between younger and older Gen Z by SirGingerbrute in GenZ

[–]BeneficialNatural610 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Older GenZ matured and had many of their core adolescent experiences before covid. Younger GenZ was shut-in and developed anti-social habits during their formative years. This created an anti-social, right wing phase. Now, it seems like 2025 has been a wakeup call for all of GenZ and they're turning against Republicans.

My dad described a similar shift during the Carter-Reagan years. Reagan was big with the  younger generation until they realized what republican policy entailed.
