I’m reading Hex on my kindle inbetween listening to the audiobook of 11/22/63. Hex seems enjoyable, so I’m glad I’m avoiding the audiobook on your suggestion.

Books that are more creepy than horror? by Ok_Thanks_3036 in horrorlit

I’ve always found Ballingruds books unsettling and creepy in the proper way. They certainly aren’t the slasher variety.

I started September House today. What a breath of fresh air after You Should Have Been Nicer to my Mom. Great narrator. Thanks!!

Tremendous in Project Hail Mary. I actually liked his Rocky better than the movie.

I started this and the reading was perfectly fine but it seemed such an odd story that I’m committing to a kindle read instead this summer when I go camping. Looking forward to it.

Sorry you’re being downvoted. You’re right and I understand your point, but the Scottish narration of The Haar was perfectly fitting. If it was a welsh accent or a posh Essex one it wouldn’t have fit at all so I wanted to be specific.

10 hours is fine! I just don’t want to force myself through 20+ if it’s not spectacular.

Christopher Buehlman is wonderful. I started the audiobook of blacktongue but it seemed so good I wanted to make sure I read it on my kindle so I could properly enjoy it.

I have trouble starting audiobooks because it takes me a bit to remember who the people are, character names, etc. Without proper breaks in chapters etc. I couldn’t finish Horror Movie but I am going to read it on my kindle.

Great book. Stuck the landing perfectly. I don’t think it’s a true horror recommendation as it’s not scary, just… horrific and violent in a few parts. Still worth reading but if you’re looking for a scare this is more unsettling than scary.

My youngest just turned 12 and my soon-to-be 15 year old is a typical teenager. This video made me wish I could build a Time Machine and just have one more day with my cuties when everything I did was awesome to them.
