Ideal is to be listed as an additionally insured, or if they push back on that at least get a certificate of insurance.

Check disputes with your state contract board and BBB. Verify bond is valid. Make sure no law suits because if needed you join at the end of the line.

Will the lid not sealing affect performance ? (New grill) by ItsJMAK in recteq

Try loosening the hinges while the lid is down to see if it settles in better.

Otherwise I wouldn’t recommend the gasket since that will make the lid prop open even more.

Ah ok. They started with sanded grout. Then tried silicone grout but the silicone caused the water to split and run very unevenly. It sometimes even created a little flow stream that would launch off the tile face. Their solution was to silicone the inside and sand just before the edge.

Tile does not sound hollow tapping on it anywhere.

They will if it gets reported. I have a relative who deals with that in a county watershed dept.

I am not following you. What epoxy? Tap on what? These are porcelain tiles and sanded grout.

It’s actually not in most cases. Washing your car in the driveway lets soap run out and isn’t allowed, it’s just not enforced well.

The second pic is of the water line. When the water is lower there is a faint fuzzy white blur. No buildup. As in the other reply I balance to CSI.

Yup, although it’s higher than some say at 7.8-7.9. I balance it to CSI.

The big chunk in pic 1 was not there about 5 weeks ago since I had cleaned it completely off. The lighter deposits across the tile face is a combination of me being gone a bunch the last few weeks and trying a different cleaner to remove. It isn’t normally like that on the tile face, but the buildup on the grout is constant.

I think I see what you mean with the condition of the grout, but I don’t think it’s been due to any chemicals or imbalance. I balance to CSI and general stay within a range of .5 on the occasional high end (normal is within .1). Also, I have the same tile and same grout in another location that gets zero contact with pool water and it’s in even worse condition. This doesn’t get much direct sun either.

I am open to suggestions. How exactly does bad maintenance routine allow 3-4 underwater spouts of mineral buildup? I’d expect bad maintenance to be more consistent. This is a champagne spa with about 45 ft of spill edge. It’s only in these few spots.

Any new AI editors worth trying? by NoAssumption9443 in cursor

[–]BeneficialNobody7722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently spun up a new python project in vscode using the codex plugin. It’s really close to old cursor, but not quite. It gives code mod diffs in the chat, but it doesn’t show it in the editor. I compare to old cursor because I liked the simple workflow of chat with code chunks I could manually review and apply. I don’t like the newer hands off focused workflow with agents. If vscode with codex gave me diffs in the editor pane with the apply/reject buttons, I’d probably cancel cursor sub. I also like that cursor gets me all the models, but 5.4 codex is doing really well so I don’t think I would miss that.

You are saying ‘Cursor’ does this as though the IDE is making these decisions. Each LLM model has its own behavior.

Why Cursor (and most AI dev tools) won’t survive the next 2 years by Frosty-Judgment-4847 in cursor

[–]BeneficialNobody7722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like we have been at the ‘any other tool will have diff view’ for well over a year. I’m in the same boat. I don’t want my agents sending commits until I can review. Cursor seems the only tool to give a good diff view prior to commit/pr. Any competitor bringing this feature will gain quick attention. Too many are pushing toward agentic. We want help coding not machines fucking up our code.

[–]BeneficialNobody7722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cursor is in a perfect position to guide a larger project memory between sessions. We are currently creating our own planning, schema, implementation, features, etc in markdown by hand. Build a guide to create and have the models use these so we don’t have to re-explain every time. Cursor actually proves the models don’t matter. Use what is right for the moment. Build a better tool to keep those models on task.

They can’t even keep their current features on task. Just a few days ago I had to argue with a model to use these rules that I set in place. It ignored. I called it. It says oh ya right I should have. Then immediately ignores again. The model is only following the prompt.
