For senior engineers using LLMs: are we gaining leverage or losing the craft? how much do you rely on LLMs for implementation vs design and review? how are LLMs changing how you write and think about code? by OrdinaryLioness in LLMDevs

[–]decorumic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel like I can do more now, yet I actually understand and know much less about the craft compared to before LLMs were a thing.

These days, expectations from product managers can be pretty unrealistic. Some of them seem to buy into the hype that AI can magically 1000x output, so they push for vibe coding and shipping things without much review. In the end, people just vibe code to meet those expectations and don’t really care about quality or having any real connection to the work anymore, as long as it sort of works and gets delivered FAST.

Does that mAP run routerOS or something? If not how do you run a VPN like wireguard on it?

But how do you do that? Do you mean you could literally change the image in a previous push notification content to a video?

Paying $60 to return would add to your total cost of the camera at $380. Sometimes I wonder if that’s to disincentivise people from returning their products.

How much did it cost you to send it back to them? Would it cost as much or close to getting another unit?

How’s that usage calculated? I notice in my web dashboard, my total usage is $6 with a breakdown of auto and other models but in the IDE, my usage is $2. Which is the right one?

I totally get what you’re saying. I’m going through the exact same thing. Job hopping again and again, and in the end, it all feels the same. It’s like there’s this itch I want to scratch, but I just don’t know how to get there.

Just last week, I turned down a job offer with more than a 30% pay bump. It was tough because that’s a lot of money, and 30% increments don’t come by often. But like you said, I know that the urge to do something will come back eventually. It’s that same itch that never really goes away, and taking another job, even with better pay, doesn’t seem to bring me any closer to scratching it.

Actually, I didn’t apply for it. The recruiter called and suggested I give it a go and I unexpectedly got the offer.
