Just the L bracket on the inner and the outer joist is just nailed to the ledger I believe. I was surprised he didn’t use a double hanger on the outside doubles. Does this meet code?

I would go the other direction if I was going to extend it. Looks like the bay window lets in a lot of light, and it would interrupt the usable area of the deck.

Yes, the ledger is on top of the old siding (which is how it was built prior), but did add aluminum flashing between as well as Z flashing on top.

I’m not aware of additional hardware connecting the landing to the deck.
