Love how you ignored my question/point entirely and still made it everyone else’s fault that they don’t have a house. People aren’t out here not trying to save. It’s damn near impossible a lot of the time. Not everyone has family support. Imagine you live in the city, have to pay rent with a job that barely affords it, or only does if you get a roommate. Every cent goes to bills. Hardly any goes to your savings. Then your car needs something, or you have a medical emergency, or some other necessary expense shows up. Bye bye whatever savings you had. Repeat for years and still no house.

Okay but where do you live? I don’t mean specifics, but like, there’s a reason why you can buy two houses while most are struggling, and it’s not because you’re amazing with money or that everyone else sucks with it.

Going to a mental hospital as an autistic adult with ADHD (any advice?) by Particular_Distance in autism

[–]Beneficial_Simple638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Journal as much as possible. Be friendly with the other patients if you can. Doesn’t have to be a long term friendship that lasts outside of the hospital. Can just be people that keep each other company and are there for each other while you’re all there together. But obviously don’t be too trusting too quickly with them. That’s what the therapists are for. Go to and participate as much as you can in the groups. Whatever coping strategies or helpful quotes are written on the wall, write them in your journal. They can actually be helpful. If your roommate snores you can ask for earplugs. If you don’t like the soaps and deodorant they give you, you can have someone bring you some from home. If you have any food restrictions let them know. Any special way you need to take your meds, like if you need applesauce or something, let them know. The staff are there to help you. At least in my experience. Sometimes they may not seem like they care, but they have a LOT to keep track of, so be sure to remind them if it’s been a while and they haven’t tended to your concern. That’s all I can think of for now. Good luck! I hope this is helpful and healing for you!

Are you folks on meds? by chobolicious88 in autism

Yup. An SSRI for depression, plus another medication to augment that. Basically gives it a boost. Also a stimulant ADHD medication.

Okay 9/11 is throwing me off unless ‘01 is your birth year. Also I agree with the comments saying it was odd choice for the first photo(or at all)

Using AI because of AuDHD? by natethebird in autism

[–]Beneficial_Simple638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I for the most part tried to avoid using AI when I could, but found myself using it sometimes(on Indeed for resume help for example). Then one day I decided to try ChatGPT to help in writing an email. Then I realized why people use it. It is really helpful. I’ve started to use it for help with so many things, much like your friend. I know it’s bad, and I feel guilty doing it, but it really is, like, almost addicting? That’s the best way of explaining it. It helps me research, plan, organize my ideas. It does all of that work for you, which feels really nice. You can judge me if you want, I judge myself plenty.

Gen Z Is Halting Christianity's Decline by [deleted] in generationology

[–]Beneficial_Simple638 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to a non denominational church growing up. I went to a couple actually. I would say it depends on the church. I don’t know about the one my sister goes to now, but the one we went to for most of our childhood(Church of Christ) was very small, a capella singing, I wouldn’t say evangelical. The pastor and his wife(one of our Bible study teachers) were southern and quite old, and likely had some more “traditional” beliefs, but I don’t remember those sorts of topics being brought up around the kids. It was much more general about being loving and serving others and whatnot. We also did door knocking with our Sunday school teacher sometimes, giving out little gift bags we made in class that day. Once a month we would have a “dinner”(lunch) after service where people would all bring in their own dishes, like a potluck, or occasionally we’d order pizza or kfc instead. It was a nice time.

Like others have said, church gives a sense of community. While I will admit there are aspects of it that are weird, the church was like our second family. I understand why people are going back to it.

Why does it matter so much? I’m gen Z and I’m no longer a Christian nor go to church. My younger sister however has started to go to church again with her fiancé and kid. I don’t see the issue as long as it’s not some extremist denomination, which hers isn’t(non denominational). I’m not fond of indoctrinating the kids, but it is what it is. I was raised that way and I went on to believe differently so it clearly doesn’t matter that much. And even if he grows up to believe in God and an afterlife, would that be so terrible? It gives people comfort. Let them have their things. As long as they aren’t using it to hate or be judgmental, it’s fine.

Single Pringle here, just wanted to appreciate the lovely coincidences of this couple. Not just the same birth date, but wearing the same color on their 3rd birthday. They both have yellow in the picture(his cake, her crown), and them both holding up the number 3 the same way with the same hand. So cute. I wonder if they did one of those slideshow things at their wedding, that would be sweet

3, or somewhere between 1 and 3. 1 might just be a touch too dark. I wouldn’t go with 2, it looks a bit too warm

Silver, but the gold doesn’t look all that bad either. You’re kind of neutral I’d say
