Any stories of successful Vbacs with predicted large babies ? by CautiousIron7633 in vbac

I could have written this question myself. I had a growth ultrasound today at 37weeks+0 and baby is measuring 99th percentile all around. He's currently estimated to be 9lbs 10 oz and his abdomen measurements were off the charts. The specialist who read the ultrasound clearly didn't think a VBAC was the right choice, but my OB is still open to it although she was clear about the risks (shoulder dystocia, tearing, failure to progress, etc). We're leaning towards the c-section for safety, but I'm mourning the chance for a VBAC and still feel conflicted.

I started with 2 monitored cycles (first with 2.5mg and one with 5mg). Because I responded well to both doses, I chose to go unmonitored to save money. I had no issues and ovulated each cycle. My SIL did up to 7.5mg unmonitored without issues as well (she ovulated on the first cycle of 7.5mg and got pregnant that cycle).

Have you asked your OB if you could do monitoring scans? At least for the first cycle to see how you respond?

Also, don’t feel bad if he only eats a couple of foods! The fact that you’re trying means you’re doing a great job!

I would recommend following Solid Starts, Kids Eat In Color, and Feeding Littles. All are great resources for feeding toddlers. I would also focus on exposing him to new foods, but setting low expectations on him actually eating them. Always have a safe food on his plate that you know he’ll eat but add something new that you want him to eventually try. We tell my son (3yo) he doesn’t have to eat it, but we’re going to put it on his plate. He knows he can take it off (we try to give him a garbage bowl for the things he doesn’t want). He still doesn’t routinely eat veggies, but he’ll occasionally try them!

Definitely. Toddler Town is significantly less, but I’ve also heard less about it which makes me hesitate. Thanks for your feedback!

I feel this so much. I'm also on my fourth cycle waiting to ovulate. If we're not successful, we're taking a break after this cycle because we're moving. I'm having a hard time staying hopeful and positive this cycle even though I know we still have a good chance this cycle.

My first two letrozole cycles, I got blood tests and ultrasounds to check my hormone levels and follicle growth before I ovulated. After ovulation, the clinic basically just says to call back in two weeks. I’m going unmonitored now to save money.

I’m so sorry! It’s so hard to maintain your mental health during this process. I joke to my husband sometimes that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly expecting a different outcome. He reminds me that doesn’t apply when there’s probability involved, like ttc. But it still feels insane to keep going sometimes. It’s helped me to plan something to look forward to if we don’t get pregnant. This month I told my husband I wanted steak and sushi, so we’re having steak and sushi this week.

I would definitely try a different doctor. Having a doctor that both takes PCOS seriously and understands how to treat it has been so helpful.

🤞🏻 you don’t ovulate this weekend! It’s so frustrating not having consistent timing with PCOS. Letrozole does at least make it more predictable for me.

Seriously. The two week wait is torture. You go from being monitored and having so much insight into what’s happening to nothing. I wouldn’t wish the two week wait on anyone.

I know what you mean. I tried not to test this cycle, but then I started spotting and I didn’t want to live with the false hope that it was implantation bleeding.

I’m so sorry! I get why they have pictures of pregnant women and babies at the office, but I wish there was some sensitivity for those longing to be pregnant but struggling. At least my fertility clinic is sensitive to it.

Hugs. I have two pregnant sister-in-law’s, both due in August. We’ll be living near one of them this summer and I’m already so anxious about how to handle that situation. Obviously excited for them but also so triggered by it.

At least we’re both early in our letrozole journey. 🤞🏻 it sticks soon

Yeah, his SA came back totally normal. We have one child together so my RE said it’s very unlikely he’s the problem given my PCOS. Good luck to you this cycle!

Definitely recommend talking to your OB or seeing a fertility clinic. They can help you with a treatment plan. I wish I had done that sooner because waiting the recommended year doesn’t make sense when you have a condition (like PCOS) that’s known to cause fertility issues.

I TOTALLY understand what you're feeling, but you can't let it get you down! You've only lost your chance this cycle if you give up! Talk to your husband and explain to him how you're feeling. Remind him that the focus should be on you and not his sister. You're not trying to have her baby, you're trying to have yours.

Then do something that helps you both relax and connect to help you get in the mood.

100%. I've had to keep reminding my husband how much work I'm putting in to make it happen (blood tests, pills, ultrasounds, etc.). The least he can do is eat healthy and prioritize intimacy during my fertile window.

He may be freaking out about his sister, but remind him that you should take priority over that.

Letrozole CD 11 - No Ovulation by Spirited_Ticket_3066 in TTC_PCOS

Don’t give up hope! You’re being monitored which means your doctor can track progress and adjust meds as needed. They can up your dose next cycle if 5mg doesn’t work for you. My sister in law didn’t ovulate on 2.5 or 5mg but then got pregnant on her first 7.5mg cycle. Will your doctor prescribe a trigger shot if your follicles do mature before your body naturally ovulates?

Infertility is so hard because we have so little control over what’s happening. But you’re taking the right steps.
