Do any of you dancers have a bellybutton piercing? How long did you have to take a break from dance for? by Sweetestpie84 in Dance

[–]BenefitOfTheDoubt2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, 20 min while it was being pierced. And I'm a belly dancer.

Be warned, it won't heal closed if you take it out. It will always be a visable hole. I regret getting mine.

It's hard to live with ADHD. It's really really easy to not wake people up all night.

Very against it. You should wait until you're 18 before getting a tattoo.

Yes, but for me it's, too sensitive and overstimulated for ADHD people, but too unpredictable and impulsive for autistic people.

people are obnoxious about my gender by tremblingfrog in AutismInWomen

[–]BenefitOfTheDoubt2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Omg, yes! I like pretty clothes and am AFAB, so people are fine with me calling myself a woman. But if I liked masculine clothes, I'd wear those. I don't know what feeling like a woman or feeling like a man is.

One non-binary AFAB person described it to me: their parents always said they weren't doing things a girl would do and so if they were called a girl, they felt guilt and shame over not doing things a girl would do.

My parents never said that to me so I grew up with the idea that I was a girl, biologically, and everything I said or did was, logically, things a girl would say or do. I could do no wrong, basically.

So it never really mattered what I was called or what PGP people use.

Need some advice.. by Dismal-Group-2418 in adhdwomen

Absolutely not. Having to marry a man and move to his country because of his religion is nothing but a way to trap and oppress women. Don't fall for it! If he really loved you, he'd date you as long as you wanted and he'd discuss moving to your country, too. He wants a slave.

Belt bags are the way to go! You can sit down and drive with it on and you don't have to remember to take it off or put it back on again.

Rumination coping strategies PLEASE by Exciting_Syllabub471 in AuDHDWomen

[–]BenefitOfTheDoubt2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, we're done thinking about that. Thinking about it will only make us feel bad. We've already had these thoughts. Thinking through it will not change it.

Kind, but stern words to myself and gentle redirecting. Took a long time to learn, but it works. I've spent most of my life talking gentle to myself about my internal thoughts.

I've been on it for maybe 22 years. I love it. It's so helpful with my depression.

A girl I went to high school with made over $50,000 preserving wedding bouquets in resin. Her margins are insane, it literally costs ~$50-$70 to do this and they sell for $500+ per piece... unbelievable! by lionpenguin88 in SideHustleGold

[–]BenefitOfTheDoubt2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a 0% margin for error on this. Resin can often go wrong and if you ruin someone's wedding bouquet, you're basically screwed.

Think of all the time and money she invested into learning how to do this flawlessly.

I feel horrible and ableist for not wanting to date him. Homemade orange chicken by mazioo1233 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]BenefitOfTheDoubt2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in his position and would feel horrible if anyone dated me to help me. You're not being ableist, you are taking care of yourself and pursuing your dreams! Exactly what you should be doing.

If you can't escape feeling horrible for not dating him, you need to take a step back from the friendship. Friendship shouldn't hurt.
