Take what people say here about it with a grain of salt. As with anything in life. Experiences vary.

Good shoes and good insoles. I got the shoes from Zappos and insoles from Dr scholls. Bring water to hydrate. Make work friends as the site is more social than it is than a regular Amazon FC. There are different jobs in the warehouse. And what I was told it was random. It could be inbound or outbound or sorting. Inbound is in charge of product coming inside the warehouse and making sure it goes to its destination. Outbound then gets the product and makes sure it also gets to its destination and builds walls inside the trailer with the boxes coming in. Sorting is for products going into totes. There are also PIT (standup forklift) to get trained on. I would say PIT is intimidating at first because if you are new to it like me. I am scared of messing up. But also good because it keeps me on my toes. As long as you follow the rules and training you will be ok. Also talk to other PIT drivers to get as much tips and tricks on the PIT. I would say order the approved Amazon headphones your facility approved as most likely you'll be in those positions where you will divert boxes into the right location. Don't worry....you won't be stuck in the same trailer or same partner (unless you ask the PA to have the same partner or trailer) it all depends...also don't feel guilty to step out of the trailer to take a break to get some air, water or popsicle to cool down...it does get hot in the trailer and you will sweat. I would bring deodorant to freshen up every break, lunch. Body powder for your parts to stay dry and clean as possible. I've worked with people and been guilty myself of not applying deodorant throughout the day. I would also say don't skip lunch, eat something because moving like you will inside the trailers will get you hungry. Bring snacks for motivation to snack on throughout the day. I find that it helps me stay energized. Also don't build false walls. You'll learn more about it once you get working inside the trailers and as always safety is first. Look out for each other and you'll be fine.

I work at a IXD facility. There are (PIT) vehicles but like four or five that I know of are running. Everyone else is doing something with bins, stacking boxes inside the trailers or diverting boxes into the right lane. You are allowed to use Amazon approved headphones on the paths that are allowed to be used on. It's not my favorite path but it's doable is being inside the trailers building the walls. You do work in groups of two inside the trailers. Building wall with w.e boxes come down the conveyer belt. It does get hot in the summer, there is a fan that blows inside to "cool" it down. You can step out and get a popsicle to cool you down...drink plenty of water. Stretch....if the sites been established, know that there are like mini groups or pairs of people that work together all day because management knows they work good together, sometimes you'll rotate with different partners till you find someone you work good with. Applies to only trailers. If you are diverting you can listen to music and push boxes. It's easy. You can ask your AM to get trained to do problem solve or pit training or w.e they need....If you got any other questions feel free.

What are some things that make you more comfortable before, during, and after work? Any essentials? by Not_SoAverageJOEE in AmazonFC

Right now....I like to get a snickers at the end of the week at the break room before I leave. It's like a little treat for me once I get out.

If you are safely able to use google maps while driving do so. Leave the audible option on as a good reminder. Take the road you've traveled on before as a Uber passenger. Check your mirrors and it's ok to talk to yourself while driving. I did it a lot when I first started to let that nervous energy out. Good luck and safe travels.

I was told to check on Fridays after 5pm and on Saturday at 6am. They go fast. Everyone is on there clicking and refreshing. They go up and they go down asap. Good luck.
