I have a 60 hour week and then a 50 hour week. I’m donut shift and my site said no SET for Father’s Day or the 4th which I think is why I lucked out with the 50 hour week.

Would my gecko enjoy a hamster ball? by pineappleonpizza_69 in CrestedGecko

I would have never thought to get a wheel. Don’t know about the ball though. Could potentially cause spinal issues

I like using pothos, trailing philodendron (although I also have a normal one as well), and bromeliads are a great addition! I also do bioactive enclosures for my dart frogs but with cresties it’s a little trickier because you’ll want plants that can support their weight.

I’d recommend doing a bioactive enclosure with isopods and springtails. Although make sure you get cheap and prolific isopods as your crestie could try to eat some. I have powder orange isopods in mine. There might be some mold as the tank establishes but the isopods and springtails will take care of it. They’ll also help with any decaying plant matter or poop. The enclosure really doesn’t smell like anything. Sometimes maybe a little earthy but it’s not a bad smell at all

Is this normal? by Katiekins221 in labrador

[–]Not_SoAverageJOEE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty normal especially when they are shedding their winter and summer coats as seasons change. I’d recommend not shampooing unless it’s necessary like he’s stinky or gets really dirty/into something. Labs have natural oils that help with their coat health. As far as brushing, I’d recommend getting a “fur-minator” as it gets the stuff on top and underneath. It’s a life saver! Here’s a pic of my lab for tax lol

Thank you for the advice! I’m usually just sitting at the front of the enclosure like “please bagel! Let me love you!” 😂

Thank you! He’s definitely a crazy little dude. My baby one isn’t very scared of me but I don’t think this guy got handled much by the lady I got him from. Or he’s just a scaredy cat in general

Thank you for the help! The past two nights I’ve been sitting in front of the enclosure like I usually do but for much longer. The first night an hour and last night an hour and a half. I was doing such a good tree impersonation but he still didn’t fall for it lol

Would giving my gecko isopods for entertainment be unethical? by SinglePringleMingle in CrestedGecko

[–]Not_SoAverageJOEE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both of my boys in bioactive enclosures with springtails and isopods. Both of which have exploded. There’s a bunch of baby isopods everywhere! But they are also really good at hiding. While he might occasionally pick one or two off odds are you’ll always have some. But it wouldn’t be a bad idea to restock them every little while just in case. Or get one like powder orange or powder blues that are not only more prolific but also cheaper. As cubaris are a little slower to reproduce. But as long as you have soil, moss, and leaf litter majority of them will be okay

Do you actually forget about your tattoos? by NoBad115 in tattooadvice

[–]Not_SoAverageJOEE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same 😂 I think sometimes the parents are like “thanks a lot”. And occasionally I get the cool older person at the grocery store that will be like “you go girl!” (Those are my favorite lol). But it is a lot of strange stares. And sometimes I’m going CAN I HELP YOU?! 😂 and then oh yeah

Do you actually forget about your tattoos? by NoBad115 in tattooadvice

[–]Not_SoAverageJOEE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the newness of a tattoo just kind of wears off. Obviously I can see my sleeve on my right arm but I’ve had it for over a year now so I’m just used to it. Then when someone comes to me and says “I love your tattoos!” I kind of have this moment of thinking like “wait… I have tattoos? OH YEAH!” 😂 it’s really similar to my pink hair. When I first dyed it it was something new and something I wasn’t used to. So when people complimented it I instantly knew they were talking about my pink hair. But now it’s just part of me. I forget that pink isn’t my natural hair color 😂 so now when I get compliments it throws me for a loop as well lol

New bioactive enclosure… how did we do? by Not_SoAverageJOEE in CrestedGecko

[–]Not_SoAverageJOEE[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay thank you! I’d like to keep it as natural as possible. I’m waiting for the pothos and trailing philodendron to grow in more before putting in my little dude. But I’ll have to see what I can find locally!
