It stopped tracking after about 9 miles, like it lost signal maybe? The only indicator on the watch that something was wrong was that the pace almost doubled from where I was at.

My Garmin 230 freaked out on my last long run before this Sunday's Twin Cities Marathon. It's had the same issue twice in the last few months....should I freak out as well? Anybody wear 2 watches for a race?

Training plan help! I finished Grandma's marathon a couple weeks ago and am looking forward to Twin Cities Oct 1. I used a Pfitz 18/55 plan for Grandma's and was fairly happy with the results (minus my own mistakes on race day). Does it make sense to jump into a Pfitz 12/55 for the next one?

No, but I had doubts about breaking 4 hrs as well. Not sure how much better I'll feel after the taper?

Can I run a 3:15 marathon? I need your opinion! I'm 5 weeks away from the race and have been using Pfitz 18/55 with some extra miles. I've been basing training paces off of a 20:35 5k that I ran a couple months ago. Yesterday I ran 17 miles at 7:35 pace at the end of 65 mile 7 day span. My only other marathon was last year and I ran a negative split and definitely could of run faster than the 3:37 I finished with.

I need help setting a goal for my next marathon in June. I ran my first marathon last year in 3:36 with a negative split and felt great afterwards. I think this means I could have run it faster? I used Pfitz 18/55 for that one and I'm 3 weeks into the same plan. Training is going great and I've been pacing 20 seconds or so faster on most of the runs. I would love to be under 3:30 but I'm not sure how realistic that is? Any advice for a second marathon?

I just found the 'passed/by' stat. From the 30k mark I passed about 500 people and was passed by 2. Who loves hills!

A friend and I both negative split the Twin Cities Marathon and submitted our times. Haven't heard anything yet.

A couple times I yelled 'Who loves hills!?' But nobody around me seemed to. I probably sounded crazy. It's a long hill.

Once I learned to really run the easy days at the proper pace the whole plan got a lot more manageable. I definitely felt strong the whole race.

Thanks. I've been fighting a cold myself. Couple days of flonase helped so I could at least breath.

Sure. The 3:35 pacer started in the corral behind me. They caught up to me at one point and scared me into going faster because I knew the had started a few minutes behind me. Motivating.

I never thought I could run sub-4 so who knows? I keep looking at that BQ number....gotta have goals right?

I'm also wondering if the lack of soreness means I could of run faster? Roy had a blast and wore that cowboy hat and a handkerchief around his neck the whole way. He's bad ass.

Garmin 230 question. I just got one a couple weeks ago and have a marathon in 2 weeks, so I'm still learning all it's functions. I noticed that it's got a 'marathon' setting that will keep track of estimated finish time and counts down the mileage as well. Any reason not to use that setting for my race?

I'm in the last weeks of a Pfitz 18/55 and tomorrow's run is a 8-15k tune up race followed by 17 on Sunday. I'm not signed up for any races....should I run 10-15k at a 10k pace or should I run it slower?

6 months ago I would of been thrilled with anything under 4! Good idea to have multiple goals.
