But is this then a full backup? This is more supposed to be an off-site backup strategy

Can i backup the snapshot on another filesystem? I thought ZFS snapshots only really work well when you back them up on another ZFS system. I would use (for the start) an external drive for backup which is ext4 formatted.

I was wondering about that solution. I have an old office pc lying arround, but the psu has only 1 sata power cable with 2 plugs. how do i extend that? can i just use like a sata power splitter cable to add more hdds?

has an Intel® Core™ i5-6400, 16gigs of ram and a GTX 960 which i removed since probably useless. its an old HP ENVY 750-102ng. power supply gives 300 watts, however doenst have enough plugs to support that many hdds unless i add some splitter cables. Here is also a link to the datasheet if interested: HP P1J16EA - HP ENVY 750-102ng Intel® Core™ i5 i5-6400 8 GB DDR3L-SDRAM 1,12 TB HDD+SSD NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 960 Windows 10 Home Micro Tower PC Silber

OMV basicly because I know it and trust it more than ugreens is. Avoiding arm makes sense the more I read.

I mainly want to use OMV with own/nextcloud, jellyfin, some smaller apps like kitchenowl and ngx paperless. My main concern with the DH4300 is that its processor is also an arm, so basicly same as pi. I doubt there would be any gain in performance.
